It's so weird this fight didn't already happen.

You guys know this fight is not going to happen. He did not defend against brick-layers and club bouncers as a champ only to fight a former titlist on his way down.

And for those of you shockingly predicting an easy night for Wilder. do you remember him fighting a certain chinny cruiserweight soccer hooligan southpaw and nearly losing? So now he is going to fight a strapping ex-titlist southpaw and it is going to be an easy night?

    Sure thing.

Wilder would put Martin to sleep within just a few rounds...

Not going to happen. Wilder would want at least $5 million (as he is now used to those Fury purses) and Martin would want the same to give up his rehabilitation/risk.

That would mean the fight would have to be on PPV. Who is going to pay PPV prices for these two to fight? That's why this fight is not going to happen.

If Wilder fights again, his next fight is going to be against an Helenius type.

I wonder if even Helenius is worth the risk? Even if Wilder can't get any money to fold his compensation case, he'd be a desirable opponent for whoever comes out on top of the Fury AJ, potential WBO holder) series. Maybe that one last payday isn't worth jeopardising for anything other than a sure thing? Kownacki was being groomed before he slipped up. Maybe he could be rehabilitated into an opponent to walk onto the right.

Apparently, both sides - Wilder's and Fury's - brought in an mediator to try to come to an agreement, but Fury (unbelievably) said he wouldn't fight Wilder again because Wilder has been calling him names all year. (The biggest smacktalker in the sport apparently doesn't like being called names LOL).

So, now, they are going to arbitration, meaning a judge will review the agreement. And I know people don't like hearing this (especially on this board) but judges tend to go with the contract.

(I still haven't gotten over Lennox Lewis having to vacate his WBA belt a week before defending against Grant because a judge ruled he had to fight John Ruiz or vacate).

Which is why Wilder has apparently been offered $10 million to step aside and why they keep throwing out names like Whyte and Martin and Ruiz as alternatives. Like "take the $10 million and also you can fight someone else for millions and maybe you can fight the winner of Fury-Joshua next year.

But Wilder still wants to fight Fury, and he's threatened to fire Finkel for messing this up.

Meanwhile, Usyk still wants to fight Joshua and Hearn is trying to do anything to get Usyk to back down, even threatening last week to vacate all the belts (which hung in the air a couple minutes and then Hearn seemed to retreat quickly).

Usyk doesn't want an interim WBO belt. He wants ALL of Joshua's belts.

Basically, if Wilder and Usyk stick to their guns, seems like Fury-Wilder III and Joshua-Usyk will still happen first, despite all the waving of the arms by Hearn, Arum and Warren.

But, we'll see. Depends on what the judge says and what Usyk decides to do.

All four guys fighting (Fury-Wilder III and Joshua-Usyk) sounds good. Joshua and Fury fighting sounds good. Hell, Wilder and Usyk fighting sounds good.

Threads like this are dumb, though.

I think you will find you accused him of cheating numerous times, not so much the name calling

Where did you read the Finkel stuff and the fact Wilder still wants the fight out of curiosity?

I suppose a good confidence builder for Wilder, but otherwise a trash fight.

I think that Wilder will make a statement that he is back in the mix and take Martin out in either the first or second round.

Martin is absolutely tailor made for Wilder. He is wide open to a straight right hand down the pipe.

Arum says Wilder loses the case 100%, let's see if thats true.

If Wilder is able to beat Martin and Whyte able to be Povetkin we know that Eddie will try to make the fight however I expect Wilder will duck and fight the winner if Kownacki vs Helenius rematch.
