Common man, Henry cooper had him nearly ko'd. Wilder would knock him out the ring like a burito mascott.
Wilder has sensational power, he put Fury down countless times, we saw the work Frazier gave Ali, Wilder TKO 10
Did Ali fight anyone like Wilder...no Did Wilder fight anyone like Ali...no It's a fair question, people will get mad to mention Wilder alongside Ali Fury & Frazier are not part of any equation to help solve for the answer It's really a case of if Ali can handle that explosive power....sure he had a chin and is one of the toughest to ever grace a ring but Wilder is a sniper....Foreman was a bulldozer and Frazier was a muskrat with two hammers. Younger swift footed Ali was more chinny but older more flat footed Ali got hit more I think it's fair to say Wilder has proved you cannot let him hit you cleanly...
Another huge factor in Wilders favor here is that I can’t see him being mentally beat… love him or hate him, the guy is strong minded and strong willed - and this is one of the areas the Ali has a one up on almost anyone in head to head match ups. I see Ali getting off the canvas, possibly more than once to win a decision - that is only close because of the knockdowns. Similar to the Fury-Wilder 1 bout.
Wilder still lets fight emotions get to him. He was shook for the 2nd Fury bout. The best fighters are unemotional freaks. The only time Fury has got an adrenaline dump was outside a Dominoes Pizza takeaway on his day off.
Ya know what, that’s a good point. I didn’t consider that one - somehow! As soon as it was clear Fury was fighting on the front foot, you could tell Wilder basically gave up mentally. He had something weird going on that fight though - the way he was responding to those punches was odd and scary at times.
He was scared cause he believed his own hype and suddenly was getting best up by a featherfist who in his mind he already ko'd. Fear, is what you saw in his face during that fight.
Frazier would have destroyed Wilder because he stays in front of his opponents after hitting them, plus Wilder doesn`t have Frazier`s left hook, Ali was far easier to hit with tyhe hook than the right hand, his whole style was geared around avoiding the right hand, Wilder`s reach would be a huge problem for Ali though as he was an outside fighter and not a god inside fighter.
