AJ gets ridiculed for fighting Wlad at 40. Already lined up to face mando Pulev - "AJ is a bum" - Wider fans Wilder takes forever to announce fighting Ortiz - HIS FIRST LEGIT TOP 10 OPPONENT AS A DEFENSE at 38 and is praised by Wilder fans. Now compare Wlad's and Ortiz's careers - this is why Wilder is the biggest joke in boxing.
Wilder will make Ortiz take an alcohol test before the fight, if Ortiz is drunk, he might fight him, depends on how drunk!
Fantastic news from the champ Wilder. Finally he is taking on IMO the best boxer he has ever faced as I have never rated his previous opponents very highly. This is it and its right around the corner too, Novembers not too far away. The more I think about this fight, the harder it is to see this go 12 rounds.
I don't think we should all be jumping out the window to praise Wilder for simply doing what he should of been doing for the last few years. Its a good fight, tough for both. Unless Ortiz is shot I fancy him to win.
Deontay will have the better win on his resume, than that bodybuilder Joshua, when he whoops King Kong. Klitschko took 12 rounds to beat Jennings, Ortiz stopped him in half that time. The WBA really should have put their title on the line in this fight. The ring belt should be included too. Deontay will be regarded as the real undisputed champion when this bout over. The true peoples champ. Politics interfereing with the bronze bombers legacy!
Won't be officially announced until 3 weeks from the date to limit Ortiz's camp .... OR Ortiz gets busted and Wilder fights Brezeele or some other no mark who miraculously appears in the top 15 rankings. IF and I feel its a huge IF Wilder gets in the ring with Ortiz I will give him respect for it, but based on his antics in his career to date I doubt that wil happen. He dont have the minerals harry
I actually agree here. This version of Ortiz (provided he hasn't lost a step) I'd rate as a superior fighter to the Klitschko that fought both Fury and Joshua. Stylistically, Wlad faced the more varied opponents while Ortiz might still possess weaknesses we might not be aware of, but as a knockout artist against come forward fighters Ortiz is a bad man, one of the best in the sport. If Wilder beats him in legitimate fashion I'd give him the fullest credit and I hope others do, even those who traditionally rag on him for his crappy level of opposition. He'd have earned it.
Ortiz was one of Lennox Lewis' sparring partners, that should tell you about his age, regardless though i still credit Wilder & still think Ortiz should probably beat Wilder
lol coz that theory really works. I'll use an example Frampton used the other day; Quigg knocked Kiko out in 2, Frampton went the distance with Quigg but Frampton beat Quigg....it doesnt work
Ortiz will already be training now. Possible. Charles Martin is somehow in the top 15 so no need for a miraculous appearance. I do believe Wilder wants to fight Ortiz in good faith. He's a fool on social media, but I know some NZ people met with Wilder's team a while ago and came away with the impression that Wilder wants to (finally) step up this year.
Wait till after the inevitable and Deontay stands on top of the HW mountain to say you were all wrong about Deontay. Or,,,,,get on the bandwagon because this will be enjoyable. Face it Deontay fights are electric. You aint seen nuthin. So,,,what are you all going to write about now? hmmmmm?
