If you have to bet, bet on Wilder. I dislike departing from my money more than I dislike Wilder.
    Always root for Ortiz though.

Thing is, as soon as there are more stringent ways of testing or a new ped that's showing up or they ban certain ped's there will be ways to pass it or new peds evolving or certain ways to mask. Imo its always going to be there ! Wild Boar lol.Boxing needs him, but he's guilty as sin !

Solid point. The guy with the belt often makes the rules and circumnavigates them if needed. This fight should have happened 3 years ago. Didn't Wilder blast Ortiz for PED's? Now he's fighting him?

I guess Ortiz who was too dangerous a few years back wasn't worth the risk back then. But now, Wilder needs to eventually a name contender, even if he's fat an old. Wilder's last fight looked very fishy. That guy had no business being in the ring. A disgrace.

IF Ortiz comes in fat, gets hit, and goes down too easily after collecting his largest career pay day, the stench will rival a ***** house at low tide.

Depends of the odds. If they close and Ortiz is a 2-4/1 dog then throwing $20 or so on him certainly doesn't hurt.

Full disclosure I think Wilder is an over rated cherry picker with a mouth. Who has he beaten???

Recently he said he could KO Mike Tyson and easily break Floyd Mayweather's record 50-0 record.

I hope Ortiz sparks Bamby legs, but I suspect this fight is being made for a reason.

i agree but as far as i understand it biometric passporting means even if you cheat and get away with at the time your body chemistry changes to such an extent that the testers can tell you used something in the past if not what .

    they then ban you.

its what happen to russian athletes and why they are all currently banned.

got to stamp it out somehow / madness anyway the ammount of stories i read of steroid taking keep fit fanatics having heart attacks and organ enlargment problems and dying in there 30s and 40s .

but then again i dont understand why people drink alcahol /smoke/ inject ./snort/
they al;l send you too an early grave.

reads like a grumpy old man sketch, ill stop whinging now.

Yeah same here. $25-50 at most is what I usually put down. If I lost it whatever.

I don't subscribe to this "he carries a bit of fat, but boxing isn't a beauty contest" theory. If you're fat you show you're undisciplined, plain and simple. Discipline is a sign of professional attitude towards your job. Either you have it or you don't, there is no middle ground. Heavyweights - thanks to no weight limits - either show a lack of dietary discipline or lack of discipline in the ring. Or both.

I remember people here made the same mistake with Odlanier Solis. "Oh look how effortless he moves about the ring, it doesn't matter if he has 20 lbs in excess weight". I call BS on that. Same with Tyson Fury. Lack of discipline is always, always a massive negative.

    i agree with your points
especially when it comes to cuban heavyweights
they are lazy trainers away from cuba as a rule.

i never understood as well as a heavyweight fighter the chance to earn money we all dream of is right there if you dedicate yourself to the sport yet even if they bother to gwt in shape they blow up inbetween fights ala bowe and thus shorten there careers.

even great fighters with longevity like lewis id not bother to train much in certain parts of there career.

you have winter olympians and i dont watch the sport who get get paid peanuts / and in a lot of cases would have to self finance themselves to compete , and yet they are in the best shape they can be , all year round ,dedicated to the extreme .

then in boxing you have at least 50% of the heavyweight division thinking **** all this hard training ill just pull up my shorts to cover my belly.

stiverne never had a muscle on show in his body v wilder 2 and he had 2 years to train for it.

as you say no discipline or even pride in themselves.

Jesus. I like you Mendoza, but if the fight goes through and Wilder wins, just give him credit. I'm 50/50 on whether it actually happens or not due to his track record, but if it does and Wilder wins, he's beaten a clear top 5 HW and deserves credit. Finally.
