That doesn't seem right. They want to get rid of Ortiz. It is very possible they will rig his doping tests just like they did with Povetkin. Stiverne and Breazeale are probably next in that case...
I think that if Ortiz would be the same one from Jennings and Thompson fights, he'll win. He's a southpaw, and far more skilled and harder-hitting than Szpilka, who caused Wilder problems.
Ortiz is good. But perfect timing it would be. Ortiz is senior citicen almost. Clearly lost a step, but could still cause problems for Wilder. but it's perfect smoke and mirrors match at this point for Wilder!! and everybody on Wilder train claim that Ortiz age is just a excuse. Maybe it's little bit,but everyone knows the truth. When you are closing 40yrs.nobody in sport history have been in their primes at that age. but Wilder raises his profile with this match
I'd like to see this fight, would be the best guy either has faced. Unfortunately I don't see it happening.
I feel like Ortiz is the new Bhop, age not skills, and Wilder knows the guy is past his prime and still avoided so why not face him. Wilder best keep the showboating to a bare minimum as Ortiz still has shocking one punch KO power Wilder by MD
If Ortiz doesn't KO Wilder and the fight is in the USA, and the fight goes to the scorecards with USA judges, then Ortiz, who is still perceived as Cuban even though he is a USA citizen and lives and trains in Miami, runs the very real risk of getting Rob-Bed as Kovalev pronounced it after his first loss against Ward. BTW Puerto Rican Fres Oquendo was blatantly robbed and denied a championship belt against James Toney. Puerto Rican perceived Ruiz was blatantly Robbed in his first bout against Holyfield and David Haye was allowed to blatanctly foul him into defeat as the ref calmly looked on in full approval and the deliriously-pleased British fans cheered him on. The USA ref allowed Dempsey to be helped back into the ring against Argentinian Firpo when they fought at the NYC Polo Grounds.. So if Ortiz doesn't manage to knock the American Wilder out, chances are that the most he can reasonably expect is to be granted a rematch where maybe the judges might feel compelled to grant him the privilege of being called a Latino HW champ..
Oh boy. Here we go... Bad decisions happen everywhere. However, there is one similarity to the Ward/Kovalev bouts that is making itself apparent already: "He'll never fight him!111!!!!!1".
