Bump for more votes. Not long now until the fight. Really looking forward to seeing if Ortiz is good fighting shape. Hopefully sub 240 pounds.
the poll is sensible bookies odds on ortiz are generous. esb getting more balanced for this fight/ as it should be but rarely is.
I’m predicting wilder fights like Scott and throws occasional bombs and hope he gets him out. If he survives he gets a bs decision. That way Joshua sees it and says, this guy isn’t that good. Maybe to elaborate of scheme. If wilder does stink up the joint and receive a gift it’s gonna make him less popular and people will just tune out.
Ortiz wins. Where do I get the best odds please? I want to put some money on him. Please, all Wilderslugfeastfans keep betting on him, so that I get an even better payout, after the stoppage ⚡
71-68 votes to Wilder. It's been pretty much a 50/50 poll from stat to finish. I wonder if it will have a large swing before the fight.
I think Wilder will suffer the same as Parker..... That is they BOTH have missed a step , you know when a fighter has not shown their full capabilities through performances. This applies to Wilder and Parker ,two very good fighters but now are going to NEED to actually bring it NOW. They are doing it against the two best skilled guys now where they have not had the right fights nor steady progress?? This is a pitfall trap in favor of Ortiz. Joshua speaks for itself , he clearly should win. Ortiz has his shot now he may stop Wilder in late rounds... My opinion he gets UD win which he may need to win 9 /10 rounds to pry off Wilder to have that happen BC we know Wilder has the GUYS behind him here. Wilder Will show me something if he can actually take control of this fight without a hail Mary....we'll see.
Wilder. I'll be rooting for Ortiz, but part of me wonders if Wilder's handlers would be letting him take this fight if they didn't think he would win. They know more about boxing than me. A cagey start, Wilder twitchy AF, Ortiz struggling to get near enough to land anything meaningful. Wilder landing some big straight rights, but being kept honest by some counterpunches. Wilder growing more into the contest, finding some rhythm and exploiting his footspeed. Ortiz unable to quite find the connection he's looking for, eventually being outpointed 116-112.
You may be right. I can never get those three rounds of Wilder being outboxed by Gerald Washington out of my head. But I do think he's still improving as a boxer, and is more cautious too. I don't think he's as good technically as Ortiz (and I was surprised to learn Ortiz actually has the longer reach) but he's tall and quick, and I envisage him throwing out quick jabs before backing straight off in the early rounds, and accruing points that way.
Wilder has weighed in at 214... This is another advantage for Ortiz. Going by the scales if Ortiz can't beat this Wilder he never will.
Does Ortiz weighing his usual weight not make you doubt he is put in more effort than usual for the most important fight of his career? I really did expect him to weight at least under 240. Wlad came in very light against Joshua, and it showed not just in his weight but his career best performance against Joshua.
He looks more solid around the mid section...no. Plus add to the 241 was it? That Wilder is less than 215??? There's a reason why I said Wilder needs to be 225 the least against this guy.... Again we'll see? Wilders balance issues will lose him this fight for sure if Ortiz throws jabbing direct body shots....to his 6'7 215 frame. If Ortiz camp knows what they are doing it should be quite a spectacle of ring generalship here .
I'm not going to lie, I thought Ortiz looked softer in this weigh in. I then went and watched previous weigh in's of Ortiz on youtube to reassure myself, but I still think he looks softer. Hopefully it means nothing. Joshua seems to keep coming in heaver every fight, and he keeps improving, but there is a big difference between how both of them look.
I don't recall a six pack as evidant? He's also older so he may not be warmed up as early...I can tell you ppl always accuseme of steroid ( not that I'm Mr. Olympia at 43) after I warm up ....lol I might actually change my prediction based on that weigh in too Ortiz late stoppage? If you notice Ortiz work outs at night he looks different.... A common mistake is ppl forget fights actually take place at night... This is why I've always trained at night BC you want to train when you are actually closer to fighting. It makes sense...you are also stronger at late day to night. Just small things to consider. Joshua is fast and athletic... He could be 240/255 in that range at 6'6.
