Parker's never been koed. Wilders confidence will be low after two back to back defeats. Plus the damage he has taken in the past two fights might have further diminished his punch ressistance
This. Parker's chin is as good as any in the division right now, but he's not aggressive enough to put Wilder on the back foot and scare him out of putting full force into the bomb. Wilder on points, Parker's style just ain't right for this.
Parker doesn't have a second gear. He fights like someone who doesn't want to be there. I see him losing.
Parker’s seen the blueprint twice. In order to beat Wilder, you have to back him up. Parker would need to land hand and heavy, early in the fight. He has the power to stop Wilder and the hand speed to do so without Wilder knowing what happened. Wilders chin is horrible. No other heavyweight gets stiff legged from a jab from Fury. Are we also kindly forgetting that Spilzka and Washington had huge success against Wilder and weren’t stopped until late in the fight? How is it that he magically stops a fighter that is more durable, moves more and if he commits has the power to stop wilder? Parker from the Chisora fight gets stopped though. That was god awful.
I've previously favoured Parker in this match up but I'm not so sure now. Wilder's chin is better than I thought, Parker doesn't hit as hard as I thought though hits pretty hard still and Parker has just stagnated and refuses to initiate enough for fear of being countered and just ends up on the back foot where he's less effective. Wilder himself all too often allows himself to be too patient and be pushed back at times and end up be less effective too but he usually at some point goes for it and usually seizes the fight when he does as seen vs Washington, Szpilka and Ortiz. I think the fighter who is willing to force the fight and push the other back will win. I suspect early Parker will do well as Wilder struggles with the speed of Parker and ends up taking the back foot too often. But I think Wilder will want it more and eventually he'll be the guy to impose himself fully on the fight and he takes over and puts Parker in to a too defensive mode and once that happens there's only one winner. Wilder wins a decision or stops him late.
