Pre-Fury II Wilder beats the current Whyte by destructive KO. Problem is, we don't know what Wilder has left after Fury II. He's getting older and took a shellacking, although the forced Covid delay has given him a lot of time to heal.
Whyte always looked **** against taller opponents. Couple that with Wilder's superior range, athleticism, conditioning and durability(yes, Wilder has the better chin here), Whyte goes to sleep yet again.
Wilder stops him early imo. I dont think Wilder is as chinny as this place makes out. Think Whyte might rattle him early but then get caught by a big right and it'd be lights out.
I've heard alot of UK fans scream that Wilder would get beat by Whyte. Not happening. Wilder was never scared of Whyt. "IF" Wilder is 90% of what he was, he BRUTALLY knocks out Whyte similar to what a 40 year old Povetkin did. All that talk about Wilder having trouble with a 40 year old ortiz, that everyone was calling ANCIENT....and looked what another 40 year just did to him. He got Flattened...smh
Although Wilder lacks some fundamentals you'd expect of top fighters, he still has the power. I'm guessing Whyte can't stay away from it for 12 rounds. No question Whyte would have a chance though. It depends on how Wilder holds up when he gets hit. My pick is Wilder KO8 after going through some rough moments.
