The blueprint for battering Wilder has already been set. If they fight, then Whyte will attempt to walk him down. I don't think there is a chance Wilder takes the fight tho. It will be zero risks, hoping he can fight the AJ vs Fury victor.
I did think Whyte would beat him.. But seeing him again tonight he's just so stiff, off balance and plodding. Wilder would land that right hand in 3 rounds. Whyte would need to get in their asap with the jabs and body shots to even stand a chance and that's dangerous in itself.
Next in line based on what? Hes only fought one top level guy and got whooped by him...Twice. Wilder needs to fight 2 or 3 top 10 guys before hes back in line for a shot. Hes a bum, he aint beating none of the top 10.
I think Whyte is good enough to close the distance on Wilder and then let his heavy hands do the damage! Close in Whyte would punch straight through Wilders guard or go round it with right & left hooks I could see Whyte completely blitzing Wilder inside 2 rounds
If Wilder hasn't been completely ruined mentally by the loss to Fury, he takes Whyte out early. Edit: the extended layoff also won't be good for him if Whyte is his next fight.
If Whyte is the same man as he once was, he should KO Whyte easily. Whyte has a **** chin and stays exactly the range Wilder would want. Wilder should be creaming his pants because he just got 7m to step aside only to be handed the interim belt by Whyte.
Based on him having a rematch deal with Fury and being in the top 3 in the division Who can Fury or AJ fight except each other that is now dangerous than wilder? If AJ doesn't fight Fury who else should he fight? Do you really want to see Fury or AJ v Whyte/Takam/Parker/Hunter? Do you really want to see Wilder v Whyte/Takam/Parker/Hunter? SMH name one "top 10" heavyweight who you think would be favourite v Wilder apart from Fury or AJ
Why is Wilder automatically ranked above Whyte? Because it certainly isn't based upon who they have beat.
150 year old Ortiz might be better than 50 year old Povetkin Wilder sending Fury to meet jesus for 4 seconds is worthy of his rating
This is my take. If Wilder has more than something left, chances are good he KTFO of Whyte. But not an easy fight to call, many ways this could play out. Going the distance is unlikely and Whyte might be able to get Wilder on the back foot.
Errr he was undefeated champion for a number of years with a ridiculous KO ratio. He only lost to one person who is apparently the second coming and is sufficiently bigger than him, and he even sparked him out momentarily in the first fight. Why do you think Whyte is ranked above Wilder? Because he beat a completely shot to bits Povetkin or because he managed to hit and rock AJ 7 years ago?
