He should be 0-3 against Fury in his own backyard, two of those loses via biblical shellacking and the only reason Baptism I wasn't another biblical shellacking is because he dragged Fury's inactive drug-ravaged muscle atrophied ghost out of the graveyard. Baptism II is the only installment of the trilogy he fought a close to fully fit Fury who had a good camp and it wasn't remotely competitive. He didn't win a single second of a single round or come close to rocking Fury, let alone dropping him. You can count on one hand the amount of rounds he won of the combined 30 they fought in the trilogy and as said those were against the shell of Fury in Baptism I and a post-Covid/bad camp version in Baptism III. He didn't even deserve his last shot at redemption against his surrogate gypsy father, let alone in his backyard again or a fourth one. If The Tuscaloser had won the second fight the series would've been done and dusted and he's on record saying there would be no fourth fight in the event he won the other week despite them being officially 1-1-1 on paper (all in his backyard) but in reality he would only be 1-2 against Fury. Deontay Wilder insists there will be NO fourth fight between him and Tyson Fury even if the Bronze Bomber evens the score with victory in Las Vegas... as he has his eyes set on a future unification bout with Oleksandr Usyk 'There is no rematch clause if I beat him on Saturday night... no fourth fight. We are closing the chapter in this book.' Wilder also intends to bypass Anthony Joshua and go straight to Oleksandr Usyk if he wins in the T-Mobile Arena. He says: 'I expect Usyk to beat Joshua even more easily in their rematch. He has been in touch about us fighting then for the undisputed world title. 'He's a gentleman and I would expect he would honour that commitment. 'He's getting older and he wants all the belts. But my goal has always been one face, one name, one champion and that will be me. Starting with knocking out Fury, who I hate.' 2013 quote from The Tuscaloser on fighting Fury ''I would fight him anywhere," said Wilder. "I'm a traveller, a global fighter, I fight anywhere all over the world that's how you become legendary. You become legendary by not being afraid to go into enemy territory when the time comes or when duty calls.'' How many times does Fury have to beat the soul out of his body to wriggle free from his grasp in order to be able to move on? This is beyond ridiculous now. Fury euthanized him on his own soil twice and his corpse took him to slick school in the first fight. It's over. Done. All settled. Nail in coffin. Dead.
There's absolutely nothing in it for Fury, so it will never happen. Wilder against AJ or Ruiz or Whyte or Parker .... those would be decent matches.
Wilder should have to beat at least 2 top 10 rated ring contenders. Let Firy move on to bigger things like Usyk, Joshua, Whyte. Maybe in 2-3 years a 4th fight but by that time Wilder would be 39. So I highly doubt it ever happens.
He's tried to beat Fury three times and failed. He got a draw that many thought he lost and was stopped twice. A fourth fight would prove nothing. Fury will always be regarded as a better fighter than Wilder even if he did somehow get a win back.
