We have already discussed on this Forum the statements from Wilder that he wants a unification bout with Parker. Wilder's agent has now stated on NZ Television that they want the fight in July if both get through their next bouts. Parker is keen.

So it is looking more certain. Your thoughts on this matchup?

Wilder is the best clean HW for a reason.

I like Parker as a fighter. I like him so much he's brought me back to the sport after a several year absence from following it.

I think he's progressing very well & has plenty of improvement left in him if matched correctly from here.

Which is why I think his Kiwi promoter's calls for unification fights with Wilder & Joshua & demands that Haye should enforce the mandatory against him are the epitome of naivety & stupidity.

12 to 18 months from now & with 3 or 4 title defences under his belt, Parker may well be able to beat the likes of Wilder & Haye.

Imo, right now, he wouldn't. Which is why I think constantly calling them out is about as dumb as it gets.

Take care of David Price, Hughie Fury, Big Bubba & Andy Ruiz again. If he navigates that lot successfully, he'll be a much better fighter than he is now & much better placed to pull off a win in a major unification fight.

Doubtful the money would be there to make this fight at this time.

Both will want a defending champion cut of what's likely to be a regulation defence sized pie.

We are definitely on the same page.

I think Parker has been managed very smartly opponent-wise until now. But not sure why all of a sudden they are in such a hurry? Perhaps Joe wants a short and sweet career from here on?

On the other hand, perhaps Duco and Joe see the publicity generated from calling out these top guys as necessary in building up his profile, and then when the crunch comes they will go with a second tier option again? Only time will tell?

Wilder is leading Parker and his team down the garden path.

Wilder wants no part of Parker now or ever. The fight does not happen, and Wilder is only using Parker in order to boost his own name recognition and brand.

Unless the WBC at some point enforces a mandatory on Wilder that is an elite HW, and I am sure it will happen at some stage, then Wilder continues to bounce bums off the canvas like a basket ball whilst being paid chump change.

A moron like Wilder is going to run out of money quickly in retirement, so he would be well advised to fight the best now and earn the big money whilst he still can.

Stop posting this bs. Wilder will keep on facing bums and has zero intention to face any top 10 heavyweight ...

If Wilder's handlers were serious about it then they would make a double header with Parker and Wilder first. This fight isn't big enough because each fighter is unknown in eachother's countries. Wilder can draw the same 10k audience in Alabama against Brezeale like he can get with Parker -- for much less in fees! And vice versa for Parker in NZ.

I'll believe when I see it. While I believe Parker and his team want it, I doubt Wilder is being sincere.

Also as mentioned before the money for this just isn't there at the moment. Neither are particularly big draws and unless a network is willing to take a risk and stump up the cash needed for both to make a record purse then I doubt this gets made.

Why would Wilder pretend to want Parker? Easy nights work for him.

There is more money in a Parker fight and some actual man points with the fans, than there is fighting the latest Polish bus driver or Turkish kebab shop owner.

Perhaps Wilder should begin thinking about what is going to pay more plus the fact he desperately needs to gain some man points with the fans! On this hardcore boxing forum, none of the fans have a good word to say about him (with the exception of a few black American boxing casuals)

What would a minion like you know about Wilders money management. Stop speculating on the finances of a man far, far richer than you'll ever be. It's pathetic.

I am not a minion and I am entitled to talk about a public figure as he is in the public domain. You however are, because of the phenomenon known as projection!

It is not speculation that Wilder is making chump change from defending against bums, its a fact.

If he wants to make some money and not end up another broke ex boxer wishing he had earned more, then he needs to fight based on where the big money is, not based on his deluded teams advice. I fear he is going down the bums and broke route.
