Maybe, maybe not. Fact is Wilder doesn't make huge money, he gets about $1.5 million per fight and his opponents get paid peanuts. If he fights Parker he has to pay Parker at least what Parker is used to which is far more then what he usually pays his opponents. That means Haymon is going to have to dig deeper into his pockets for a better opponent to air on NBC than he would normally like to.

Why would Haymon pay more? He won't make any more money from NBC to air the fight as that's not how their deal is structured. Haymon is basically bankrolling PBC on NBC, NBC are not paying him like HBO or Showtime would do for bigger fights. So unless Wilder can draw a bigger crowd in the arena or Haymon can charge more for tickets then the options for a bigger purse than both fighters are used to is very limited.

It would be nice to finally see Wilder defend against a top 10 opponent, and get a couple of the shattered belts unified again. I'm pretty sure Parker would be Wilder's best opponent to date, in ranking, skill and resume alike.
Wouldn't be surprised one bit if Parker stopped him.

But, I want to see it happen first before I believe it.

Parker, right now would be every HW's best opponent. Parker is a legit top 6 hw in a currently loaded division. Problem is parker, while highly skilled his size disadvantages level him off a level below DW and a few levels below Aj, that's OK and still a legit hw that could trouble any hw and beat all except Aj and DW

Maybe Wilder is still angling for the AJ fight.

But surely this one sells in Vegas?
