Look , you made a thread about this guy like you have it all figured out... I just asked you what his options were and you weren't able to tell me.
I dont have it all figured out. Never said once that i did. My thread actually asked a question. My whole point was, whether your a fan or not, surely it would be slightly more ipressive if he fought someone better than Arreola/Washington. I dont know what his exact options are, but im sure that 5 Voluntary Defences in a row against the fighters hes faced in that time are definintely not anywhere near challenging. Anyone who is saying otherwise is essentially saying that for over 2 years not a single legitimate decent HW has been available for Wilder, nonsense. He was going to fight Povetkin and fair play to him for it, but since that fell through he doesnt seem interested in trying to get a fight with someone of that level.. Example - Washington.
Who were they? Washington was a decent up and comer who upset Eddie Chambers. He was hired as Wlads chief sparring partner for the biggest fight of his career , so he can't have been that bad.
We aren't going to do this are we? WBC Top 10: 1 - Stiverne (farce) 2 - WK (Admittedly Unavailable due to the Fury Saga then AJ) 3 - Luis Ortiz 4 - Pulev 5 - Dillian Whyte 6 - Ruiz 7 - Wach 8 - Takam 9 - Breazeale 10 - Chisora Now i dont claim to know every one of these guys schedule. But i would imagine at least one of them would have been available at somepoint in the last 2 and a bit years. Unless these guys have booked their schedule 2 and a bit years in advance then im sure he could have got one of them. Also i know the ranking change and these guys probably werent all in the top 10 2 and a bit years ago. Im not having an argument with you, you seem a Wilder fan, fair play. As a Wilder fan would you not rather see him in with the best he can get. There is no way you think that his last 5 opponents are genuine contenders.
To be honest he could have organised Brezeaele instead of Washington, they both fought on the same bill. Why not against each other rather than Wilder fighting Washington?
Washington was a former footballer who started boxing professionally at the age of 30, he got a gift draw against Mansour and in no way deserved a title shot.
No , im not a Wilder fan.. Im just curious about the names of these guys he should have fought. Ortiz and Pulev are Joshuas mandatories. They are the only two guys who are legit opponents for Wilder. All the rest are the same level he has already beaten. Remember Hugie Fury and Glazkov have turned down fights. Joe Parker just recently received a challenge and he turned it down as well.
You expect Wilder to defend against a guy who had just got destroyed by Joshua? Thats crazy talk. Washington is better than Brezeaele anyway. He done a lot better against Monsour and is clearly a better boxer.
That was a last minute replacement due to Fury pulling out late. Thats a genuine case of just having very little top fighters prepared and ready - i agree the guy he fought was useless. But its not like Wilder picked Washington because hhe had a fight scheduled that fell through last minute. Different scenario altogether.
Monsour beat the breaks off Breazeale and only lost because he accidentally bit off his own tongue and was forced to retire.. Washington fought a lot better. His stamina let him down late which is why he came away with a draw.
I agree...nothing, he stepped up last minute to fight. Breazeale offered to fight Parker on late notice and I think Parker should have accepted.
No , its actually the same situation. Wilders initial opponent came up dirty and Washington was a late replacement. He was leaps and bounds better than the obscure unraked guy Parker picked , who just happened to be his own sparring partner. Washington was a top contender and a routine level opponent for any champ.
