I agree Wilder does fight to the level of his opponent but what he did against Stiverne wouldn't see a similar result against Povetkin.

Stiverne and Povetkin are quite different fighters. Povetkin looks to pressure, cut off the ring and the role of aggressor suits him, while Stiverne is more of a mid range counter puncher, he prefers fighters to come to him rather than chase like Povetkin.

Some will point out how Wlad outboxed Povetkin but there is a difference. Wlad actually couldn't keep Povetkin at arms length so was forced to clinch excessively. Wilder so far hasn't shown any ability to clinch effectively. If Povetkin can get inside like he did with Wlad I'm not sure Wilder has the know how to smother Povetkin like Wlad did and in that scenario Povetkin wins.

Povetkin has skills but Wilder is all wrong for him .he would do better against fury firing off combos up close and making fury work.Wilder will catch pov coming in and KO him.

Povetkin's aggression is what's going to get him knocked out.
He comes forward but once he runs into Wilder counters will try to stay on the outside as his trainer says he will do.
His only hope is to back Wilder up to the ropes and try to land a left hook to hurt Wilder but there is a HUGE probability that when Povetkin throws that left hook that Wilder's short right cross counter is going to land first.
I expect that after being hurt many times by this that Povetkin will be forced to fight on the back foot and that's an area he knows nothing about.
Povetkin can't match Wilder in hand speed, jabs or power and his footwork is MIA.

Another fun filled bout for Wilder and boxing fans with the only real concern in this fight is the Russian habit of cheating in a variety of ways.
Russian cheating may very well prove to be the aspect of this fight that kills all the entertainment. It seems Russians can't win in any sport without the aid of massive cheating.

Although RUSADA is international marked and banned as national run dope scheme I'm sure they will have their filthy grimy heads in the mix undercover.

''Bermane Stiverne came into this camp at nearly close to 290lbs. He also spent all week in the sauna last week leading into this bout so he definitely tried to crash his weight down to a certain weight. Third of all, Ken Miller, today when we taped the Ten Count out in Santa Monica, flat out said, on the record, that Bermane Stiverne as of a couple of weeks ago was his own words ''Making it rain with Floyd Mayweather at the strip clubs.'' So when it's all said and done.. and this is on you Bermane... You had possession of the most important title in all of sports still and you just didn't give a damn.''

    ---Steve Kim

''The thing that noticed the most and I worried about with Stiverne is, I kept seeing a lot more pictures of him with people and at places other than the gym.''

Nothing Wilder has done has shown this. He may very will beat Povetkin but it won't be easy. Wlad ragdolled Povetkin and shut him down completely. Wilder doesn't possess the skill set to do that.

Vlad hugged Povetkin like a little girl hugging a teddy bear. What you called skills is just size and a bear hug.
Wilder is going to stop Povetkin like a boxer/puncher. :yep

Why was Stiverne calling for liquids at the weigh-in after the stepped off the scales if he wasn't dehydrated? Can you answer that question?

Stiverne is a lazy back foot fighter.... Just look at how Austin was able to keep him at bay for nearly 10 rounds with a lazy jab. Povetkin and Stiverne aren't remotely similar. Stiverne is a low output counter puncher who's easy to outbox and outwork... Povetkin isn't going to stay outside and later Wilder pop him with a jab and cross all night. He's going to do whatever he can to get inside and if Wilder makes a mistake like dropping his hands or throwing a sloppy punch... Povetkin will be there to capitalize. Important to note that Wilder lacks Wlads ability to tie opponents up on the inside(unflattering compliment but it is a craft that Wlad has perfected over the years) and he won't be able to negate Sashas inside game the way Wlad did.

Some people get thirsty when they are nervous. Bright lights make you thirsty. He was building up his excuses early.
If they fought again Wilder would beat him again, and this time by TKO. :yep

Wlad knocked him down 4 times (once with a Jab) and threw Povetkin around like he was a flyweight. You won't be seeing Wilder being able to manhandle Povetkin like that.

I always said that Vlad's #1 weapon is his size advantage. The Povetkin fight proved this yet again. :smoke

Povetkin can't beat Wilder on the outside or the inside. Wilder is the better inside fight of the two and throws non-stop bombs. Once Povetkin works inside and Wilder wins the inside exchanges Povetkin will be totally confused on what to do and try to work on the outside. Wilder is going to bust this dude up and knock him out.
