I would enjoy seeing it tbh, harmless fun (to the viewer at least). Also Wilder is still one lucky punch from downing AJ at any point, even in the state he's in now. Don't think it would last long eitherway.
Wilder v Joshua was the fight to make for all the belts in 2018/19. 2 big punchers, both undefeated at the time. I think it would have reached Mayweather v Hatton levels with all the coverage. It’s a joke that it never happened. I’d have been more bothered about that back then than any potential Joshua v Fury fight.
Sadly Joshua will be pushing for a Wilder fight as even his power has gone and he turns 40 in a few months. His next fight should be against an opponent just below the top of the tree not a rotten apple on the floor. If he cannot face a semi live opponent then just retire and stop wasting people's time.
Just the right age for Joshua. I don't think Joshua is remotely shot. People are going on about how shot he is. Some of the same users who claimed that he was ready to take on the world after wins against Ngannou and Wallin. The fact is he looked as good in those as he did against other useless contenders Molina, Breazeale, Takam, Martin, Pulev etc. Dubois is literally the most dangerous opponent he faced in his entire career and he got exposed, hence why he's been carefully picking all of these useless opponents. "He's fought everyone" they say. He literally has Klitschko as the only name on his record and he was packing it in and nearly beat him. Literally everything was stacked in Joshua's favour. I don't blame him for that given how that was the case for Klitschko during his entire reign. People have zero perspective.
Yes Joshua at his peak was always way below elite level and he is still around the same level. He is what he is with no scope for improvement and it is sad that he is back to fighting Wilder types who is now no more dangerous than an old Michael Sprott who he beat early in his career. He should have the balls to get in with Ituama after he flattens Dillian Whyte. I think inactivity has not helped his career as he should have been fighting 3-4 times per year.
Yep and as you said, 2018/19 was when we wanted to see it, not 2026 earliest lol. About as relevant as Khan v Brook when that got made.
Boxing is a joke. Aside from Usyk, and maybe now Dubois, these so-called top boxers are just carefully mapping out their career and this should not be permitted but there is no legitimate boxing governance.
It's just marinading It was all Barry Earns fault... He just wanted AJs money rolling in and that's what happened... AJs career has largely been a flop
I saw that too, Wilder was trying to try things out and was learning. Old timers say that losing a UD is more valuable then a 2 round KO win. Is it too late for him to be a better fighter? - He's 38 with some mileage but Foreman was 38 when he started his comeback so it isn't impossible but it'd take a lot of work, better... maybe "different" is the more appropriate word?
Don't matter who Joshua fights. He bottled it with the rematch with Dubois. His heart has completely gone. Saying that Joshua Vs Wilder will be a fun fight. No need to take it serious, one of them are getting knocked out and I genuinely believe at this point it's a 50/50 fight.
