How the **** did he ate those 2 hooks Fury landed at him in rnd 12 after he got up? He ate a lot of straight rights and didn't even blink, 3 seconds before he knocked Tyson down he ate a hard right hand like nothing, Tyson might not be the hardest puncher out of there, but he can punch and he was 45lb heavier. He also took bombs from heavy handed Ortiz, the flush shots at the 7 round could have knocked out an elephant and somehow he stayed on his feet
He's slowly proving me wrong when it comes to his chin, Fury landed some great stuff right on his chin, he was buzzed a few times but never really hurt
Are you and everybody else forgetting that Fury could not even once drop, much less KO clowns like Seferi and scrubs like Pianeta in combined 18 rounds after landing his best flush punches over and over again? And this is the same Seferi who's been a career cruiser weight. Whilst this is the same Pianeta who was stopped years earlier by a 5 foot 11 Ruslan Chagaev in the FIRST ROUND alone, let that sink in for a moment. Pianeta was stopped in the first round by 5 foot 11 Ruslan Chagaev who is far from the hardest puncher with a sub 60% KO record. So Wilder being able to stay up and not go down from Fury's punches is supposed to prove exactly what again? That his chin is no worse than Seferi's or Pianeta's? OKAY CAPTAIN GENIUSES! But how is that something to be impressed by? If Wilder got dropped from Fury's punches, then it would prove his chin is even worse than Pianeta's or Seferi's. Which would mean Wilder's chin is at least a level below glass. Now Wilder staying up against Luis Ortiz is a more impressive feat. However, Ortiz barely even caught Wilder clean and still had him stunned. Plus, Wilder had a minute or so to recover. So that doesn't quite prove Wilder's chin is made of 'iridium'. Not even close!
Absolutely!! Fury is KNOWN to be a light-hitting for a HW. In fact, this is a key reason why Wilder's management selected him, along with their - clearly incorrect - belief that Fury was washed up. WIlder is a total FRAUD, still packs glass, and WILL get KTFO as soon as he faces a real hard-hitting HW that has any pop in his punch and isn't old or ailing like Grandpa Ortiz and Overrated Stiverne.
1. Fury is a light hitting heavy 2. Did you not see Wilders legs go 3 times in the fight from that light hitting heavy? 3. Did you not see Wilder out on his feet in round 12 after getting caught?
My rating went up. He seems to be one of these guys, like Larry Holmes or Juan Manuel Marquez, who is vulnerable to tasting canvas if he gets tagged, but his ability to recover, as you observe, is so outstanding that it is very difficult to keep him there. The final judgement will have to be made when his career is over, but reasonable chin analysts would have to move him out of the suspect category and up to decent. Ultimately, while he may not have an iron chin, his recuperative powers are so impressive, it doesn't matter much how many times he hits the deck.
David Haye who has sparred with Wilder has given kuddos to his chin and said he has hit with shots which have dropped others but they just about buzzed Wilder who came back strongly with fire of his own.
