Wilders resume is absolutely rubbish Now im not saying i dont enjoy watching him but anyone defending his fights up until the ortiz fight is a genuine mental
I would say it is all downhill from here for Wilder, Joshua, and Fury. They all have major flaws and are getting old.
It's not a great resume but then he hasn't finished yet. And to be considered an ATG puncher surely he has to knock out someone close to their prime/at prime with a genuinely good chin. If he stopped Ruiz for example.. My worry is that the PBC don't want to lose their piece of the heavyweight pie and will do almost anything to prevent the WBC belt falling out of their sphere of influence. They won't risk losing it unless the payout is so high they can cash out. And they won't do it unless the odds are in their favour. For an AJ fight that means an American ring with a US based judge. If Wilder does KO Fury, which is the most likely outcome, then I want to see Wilder fight someone new, who is in the top 10 (ideally top 5) and can either punch or has a great chin. **** this trilogy with Fury, or god forbid, a 3rd fight with Ortiz.
Well, he's fighting the #1 rated heavyweight for the World Heavyweight Championship in 13 days. It doesn't get any more "top" than that. We'll find out in less than two weeks if you're right and Wilder's just a punching bag. Or, we'll find out how terribly wrong you are. (LOL) Talk to you a week from Saturday.
Just view it as his record prior to fighting for the World Heavyweight Championship. Sort of like Floyd Patterson's record before he fought Archie Moore or Max Schmeling's record before he fought Jack Sharkey the first time. It will probably make you feel better.
If Wilder KOes Ruiz it would be an ok (not great)achievement since Ruiz is in butterbean shape and he didn't do much except for beating AJ and being embarrassed in rematch.
Bum of the month was used for some opposition for Louis. But he fought many excellent people too, & during that time fought very often-it is very different to have a max of 2 fights a year & not fight the best people around, & someone like Louis ducking absolutely bobody & staying busy with some lesser fighters. Night & day actually. Maricano likely should have lost the first fight to Ted Lowry. I do not think LaStarza beat him the first time-though the Rocky's point deduction, it was close. There were no "few" controversial freebies. If youthink so-name them please.
Still awful lol. Also, that would make all of his title defences worthless meaning Wilder's legacy is very very thin.
If Wilder ended his career with wins over Fury, Joshua, Whyte and Usyk he goes down as an ATG. However, the if is a big IF
Despicable resume... It's a waste of peoples time, Wilders ability, his ten year career. It would have been better if he never became a boxer.
