Fury knows how to defend Wilder's big telegraphed right hand, but if Malik has helped Wilder employ the left hook more, then Fury will have trouble come Saturday night
Yep Fury is in a lot of trouble if Wilder connects clean imo. Can he really eat a flush shot from Wilder? Can any heavy in history? This fight is so intriguing, even though I'm firmly in the Fury KO camp and have put my money on it at 10/11, I am fully aware of the danger Wilder brings. Unorthodox power is what makes Wilder elite. Its his intangible, and no amount of top trumps analysis on strengths and weaknesses can alter the fact that this man has lightening in both fists. I'm pumped.
What left hook lol The only thing he has is the right hand and on the very very rare occasion a good jab
Exactly. It seems some people now believe malik is a sage like genius who has transformed a 36 year old wilder on the last few months. In reality his been blowing smoke up his arse and wilders getting hammered
It's like people keep forgetting Fury probably took one of the biggest one two's in boxing history in the first fight, 12th round and got up. The bloke is made of granite. Anybody can be KO'd but people are acting like Fury hasn't tasted wilders shots before.
Dude...do you know that Wilder and Fury already fought twice? And that Fury took a massive two punch combination to the chin which dropped him hard and still made it to the final bell? In the second fight Wilder landed a flush right hand clean on Furys head and Fury shook it off like nothing. You're acting as Fury doesn't know what he can expect from Wilders punches
I agree with the point about the left hook and thought the same going into the second fight. Fury has taken the measure of Wilder's right hand, getting hit with few of them and taking them well. But he can get sloppy defensively in the range that Wilder would land a left hook. It's not going to be a thing of beauty like Lewis/Rahman II, but something similar to that is what Wilder needs.
Elite? He's so far off Elite. Its what give him the ability to step in the ring, somewhat competitive, but hasn't got anything else. Maybe a good 1 - 2 but that's very orthodox. The problem with these fighters like Joshua and Wilder, getting a belt through cherrypicking THEN learning your craft is a major problem in boxing. You can't keep it hostage while you learn what a jab is.
I think Fury's punch resistance is much improved over his previous versions. Wilder's not going to be able to one shot him and Fury is too good a boxer to get outboxed by a dimwit like the Bummer. If Wilder manages a hail mary punch I'll be surprised.
I'm not coming at you by saying this, but I keep hearing about power in both fists from Wilder. I just don't see that, he has power in his overhand right. You don't see him hurting people with his left, at least I have not. I am actually pretty pumped for this as well, I let out a big groan when the fight was announced but now I am looking forward to Saturday like a MF.
