Think about it. These guys are flawless from a business perspective. Never in the history of boxing have I seen a fighter reach such a high level of success with such appaling ability. Having padded a perfect paper record, he has essentially won the title from one of the worst stiffs to ever hold it, whilst doing absolutely nothing to deserve a shot in the first place, and is now banking millions defending it against zombies pulled out from the s**** heap, hyping up one last big payday before retiring. Truly commendable.
I doubt he'll retire so soon when it's so easy to fabricate a title shot for him due to the sheer excellence of his brilliant management team. Yes he'll lose but then he'll fight a few guys in the top 100 and then get a shot at Chagaev or whoever has the WBA regular world title. If he somehow wins he'll then be a 2 time champion and then step up his competition and defend against a few top 50 guys before cashing out for a 2nd time. When he does eventually retire he'll have likely made 10's of millions or close to it which quite frankly amazing for a guy of his ability. That's the American dream right there.
Good points. They have been, sadly, extremely successful in hyping this fraud, creating the illusion he is a "big puncher" and that he can actually take a punch by the most pathetic collection of tomato cans, stiffs, and yes, outright bums that I have ever seen a touted prospect face on the way "up." And Wilder did it for much longer too - essentially his whole misbegotten "career" is nothing but record padding, with ONE fight in seven years against a live body, Bermane Stiverne, who is really just a fringe contender.
