A lot less than he will for fighting Molina. Even at 43 Thompson is better than this guy. No one is asking for him to defend against a top 5 heavy but at least a top 15 guy. He has a belt. (Legit top 15 not WBC top 15) this can crushing has to stop now.
And let's not forget that Wilder is coming off a broken hand surgery. I'm sure he'll face someone like Fury/Pulev/Povetkin/Jennings somewhere down the line, he wants to have 3 more fights this year. 3 more! This is somewhat of a stay busy kinda fight Someone who is pretty good but also someone who isn't TOO good.
If we're basing it off ability and not resume then we're including prospects and in that case he's even further from being a top 20 HW. Watch the Grano fight again, he gets rocked twice. Yes, he did show skills in that fight but he couldn't get an equally weak-chinned Grano out of there. Just stop trying to say he has a good chin! It's completely undermining the credibility of anything else you post about Molina.
Don't worry, no one will ever accuse Moline of being 'TOO good'. Call it what it is. It's a soft touch defense.
Your complete inability to ever criticize one of your favorite fighters without parsing it undermines your otherwise reasonable opinions of them... It's a soft fight.
I do criticize Wilder, I said this isn't the best fight he could have taken, he went the softer route than what he could have done. I'm just saying Molina isn't as bad as people make him out to be. He's actually quite good and can give Wilder fits.
But look how much it took to get you to admit that much... Your first post said that "Molina has great skills and he'll come to fight". Then you went on to say he's in your top 20 HW based off ability with a "good chin" I agree he's not as bad as some people make him out to be. Just like Frankie Gavin as Kell's next defense (though Gavin's a hell of a lot better than Molina). But when you try to build up Molina into something he's not it's just atsch If you just came in and said off the bat, "He's not as bad as people are making him out to be, but it's certainly a soft defense, I'm disappointed in Deontay for taking this fight" it would be a lot easier for people to take all your praise for Deontay seriously.
