Yes he has power. Not first class. There is the difference.

He has to wind up and/or place his wild swings behind the ears to be successful.

AJ doesnt need to do that. Just a fast countering right hand put Martin on the canvas like Wilder's full windup and long leaping straight against Stiverne. (One of very few)

    That's the diffrence.

Otherwise Wilder has to swing behind the ears to be successful.

Against small or slow plodders it works because of his height, reach and leap alone. But then what?

Against Washington it didnt work nearly as Good. And Washington is a very poor mans AJ in terms of gifts and skills.

When Wilder steps up. His KO percentege Will drop big time.

Yeah, Whyte was known as a murderous puncher.

Then as soon as Whyte stepped up in class and fought Tayar Mehmed (4-10-1), Remigijus Ziausys (17-40-3), Hastings Rasani (22-64-5) ... he realized you don't carry your power when you step up.

    Jesus.

I swear. I hope these threads never go away. Because it doesn't get any dumber than this.

Wilder seems to hit harder than he does because of his placed shots behind the ears. Aiming for the Cerebellum: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cerebellum

Short and slow plodders are like target practice for the tall and rangy Wilder who can afford to swing his shots behind the guard without a risk of getting return fire.

Wilder is like a code that works great on certain type of systems.

He definitely has power. More so than Joshua. But could Wilder survive being knocked down by Joshua? I don’t think so

It probably is a bit overrated, but it's actually surprising he has the power he does considering he has really skinny legs.

It's a bit over rated imo. He has decent power but not scary, freakish power like some say.

He has raw power that he has been able to utilise on his level of opposition. I'd expect the KO's to stop if he fought anyone in my top 10 purely on the basis that they'll be able to both defend themselves better and give Wilder something to worry about coming back.

That one two he landed was beautiful straight down the pipe boom! The fight was as good as over then .Any fighter wilder hits is in big trouble. He also appears to be improving his movement and jab .Dangerous bloke.

Someone needs to convince Eddie Hearn that Wilder's power is nothing to worry about. Then he might let Joshua fight him.

Every heavyweight that swings wild all they got from the ground would get top scoring rates on a punch machine. But only a few tall HW's can get away with it in real fight situations...

    - on small or slow plodders...

You still dont get it do you!?

Wow someone can look up boxrec, but you don't know his career do you?

He had a very high KO percentage before fighting AJ. At roughly 90%

Since AJ, based on those fights alone, that KO percentage rate is about 20%.

And Parker is another great example too.

Are you getting it yet ?

Your American bum killer only has such a good KO record because of carefully picked opponents who are top 20 or below.

Wilder doesn't stop elite HWs and gets stopped himself if he ever steps up.
