How much would he have been paid vs Joshua again? When Fury beats him Hearn won't offer him anything close to the 15 he was guaranteed. This will be a financial disaster for Wilder should Fury do what I think he's going to do.
There's still the rematch clause, so likely another 4 mil purse. And the bargaining point for the Joshua fight will be in a far healthier state if he does win. He and his team have taken a business decision that involves elements of risks, as always, but I'd hardly call it a disaster. I'd love to have such a financial disaster myself.
P.S: As our avatars would speak: "Sorry to hear you missed the ideal timing on Wilder and Fury beat you to it, Eddie. Regards, a currently mostly sober and coherent Kelle."
AJ is the biggest star boxing has ever seen. 90000 people, stadiums filled, tickets sold out in minutes. Posters all over the world. Not a fair comparison.
It's a 4 million guarantee, before any ppv's are sold. If there's 250,000 sold in America both fighters earn over 8 figures. UK PPV too.
