If Wilder loses to Ortiz this will be the second time in recent memory the boxing world has jumped the gun. The last time being Ring Magazine putting Rousey on the front page right as she gets knocked out by former boxing champion Holly Holm.

 

That and how we were all supposed to be chipping in to help pay for Canelo's funeral last fall.

And that time that everyone was excited for Wilder to finally step up and face Luis Ortiz the first time. Or when he was finally going to step up against Povetkin.

Or when Jorge Linares was "the greatest fighter" that Emanuel Steward had ever seen in his life.

Also that time that professional boxers were sooooo going to invade and dominate the Olympics.

 

Can you imagine Wilder on a remote planet where he found other beings the size of ants? And forced them to build a statue in honor of him and be worshipped like a god ?
