After Wilder's 33rd fight. Finkle is asked about a unification with Wlad. “Look, (Wilder) is a baby winning the title. It was his first title fight, they'll be a time for unification, they'll be a time for all those things, he could go and Povetkin (the No. 2 contender) in Russia and make $10 million,” Finkel said to the Tuscaloosa News. “It's not the right thing yet. Give him a couple of fights, maybe bring something back to Alabama. Let him develop just like any other athlete. They don't take someone who is a great college prospect and throw him right in. And this kid is a great prospect.” - Shelly Finkle. If Hearn does this to Finkle (which I don't believe he will), he can't complain.
I actually wouldn't mind this, since I would prefer Joshua to have at least 25 fights under his belt before fighting Wilder, since that'll give Joshua a chance to sharpen up on his skill set. Joshua's stiffness and poor stamina would get him knocked out now, but another year or two and a few more fights would give him a chance to make those improvements.
So you'd rather not see two of the best heavyweights fight each other, because you'd rather see Hearn win a tit for tat battle outside of the ring? What a great fan of the sport of boxing we have here!
You're fairly rational about most things, OOAC, why the Wilder hate? Plenty not to like about his way up, but he's fairly clearly the #2 HW in the world right now and a credible threat to AJ.
He got shown up in the RBR thread for talking nonsense, after I showed him Joshua literally saying he isn't ready for the wilder fight and now he's taking it out on Wilder
