Wilder's toughest fight of his career. A fat 38 year old Cuban who's never fought for a world title.

Don't think it's his toughest myself.

When youse first claimed Ortiz was worth a **** I said he wasn't, just because he's fighting Wilder doesn't change ****. Ortiz is a well protected bum who has never fought anyone who carries power in the late rounds for a reason. The only reason he's fighting Wilder is because his handlers have given up on the idea they can PED their way to a title and have already ****ed themselves out of higher pay days trying to do it.

Fat, slow, no gas tank, and a **** outside game and that's when he's on the juice. Maybe when Wilder was first being ranked around 2011 he had a chance but today's Wilder won't even be pushed as far as Bermane did the first time. Kong hasn't improved at all since he first made rank and everyone else from that class has passed him up.

Dude used to be a threat to the division back when all we saw out of Fury was him punching himself in the face but by the time the public had made Ortiz out to be a monster he was already being passed up by Tyson and damn near every decent from that crop.

Better than Price I guess, but honestly I don't think he's a better win than AJ's recent Takam unless he gets plastered quick, and considering where Wilder is now I don't think it will be his most difficult fight to date. I mean I don't expect Wilder to shift from KO to points boxing like Bermane forced him to.

Anyone that doesnt hate on Wilder at least a bit deserves a foot in their arse.

Speaking of which, anyone notice Blizzy disappeared right after the 'big fists' thread a few days back??

Why is he so sensitive when it comes to fist size?

I sure hope he isnt having one of his peanut headed self loathing rage attacks again?

Comparing Takam and Ortiz is crazy. Takam can't punch and couldn't even beat Eric Perez of all people. Ortiz has consistently been a top 5 fighter in the division while Takam on his best day is top 15. If Ortiz was easy competition like like Takam Joshua would've fought him instead of Pulev.

Ortiz isn't all that but he is a danger to Wilder because Wilder isn't all that.

That's all Wilder fans are doing, they are talking this up because it's a tough fight for Wilder, it wouldn't be a tough fight for a legit top heavyweight.

For example Dave Allen dragged Ortiz rounds, wasn't knocked out clean, don't think he was even dropped, took clean shots and stopped on his feet and Malik Scott made Ortiz look 97 years old.. a full 5 years older than he actually is.

The fact Ortiz in 2018 in Wilder's 40th fight is being regarded as his toughest is nothing other than a complete embarrassment.

Complete and utter B.S. crap thread. Ortiz isn't 38, he's 54 yrs old.

I have a hunch Ortiz is closer to 50 than he is to 40.
I have a suspicion this fight won't be on the level. Ortiz got popped for "blood pressure" medication, at his age this likely would mean his career to be over. The fact Wilder is now willing to fight a "ped guy" after bashing them and his team saying they never would is a red flag to me. Ortiz was likely done, who knows what concessions he gave up to receive this fight.
Ortiz's resume is good but how much he has left or what's in his heart now is anyone's guess.
Still he's Wilder's best opponent if he can turn back the clock and it's on the level he can win this.

I have been watching some video of Ortiz, he is looking pretty good, yes, he will soon be 39 years old, but reports claim he is closer to 50, not sure, but that's what I have read and heard.................however, he has been looking younger in training, I think Ortiz will be up for this fight, the big problem is that Wilder has HAYMON BOXING INSURANCE! Think about it..............

Some people are too blind to see skill. They need a fighter to be hyped to know whether or not they should think he's any good. Ortiz is by far Wilders best opponent.

    Couple of things:

    - It's Mike Perez, not Eric, and many people thought Takam beat him but was jobbed on the cards. Watch the fight for yourself and decide.

    - Mike Perez is, or was at the time, considered a top fighter, so regardless of whether you feel Takam won or not, to draw with him at the least is a pretty decent achievement.

    - Takam is as solid a top ten guy as you can get. He's easily as good as Pulev, but actually likes to challenge himself, which results in a less than perfect win loss ratio. He should certainly be favoured over jokers like Whyte and Breazeale.

Other than that I agree he's not as good as Ortiz. Solid second tier guy with a lot of grit and determination, but just lacking that something to propel him into the top class.

I think Ortiz will be Wilder's best opponent, if anything is left of him..................Ortiz is a southpaw, can punch hard, if his chin is good, then it will be a long night for Wilder, but you have to remember, WILDER HAS HAYMON BOXING INSURANCE!

I really hope that isn't the case, but I wouldn't put anything past Team Wilder. I'll reserve my judgement till after the fight. It should be fairly obvious whether a dive or fix has taken place or not.
