Who do you think Deontay Wilder's best opponent has been since fighting Berman Stiverne?

How high would you rank that opponent compared to all other active heavyweights around today?

I think it is Spilka and would probably rank him between top 15 to 25 today.

Molina is awful as seen against Arreola and Joshua. So not him.

Arreola is completely washed up as seen by the gift draw vs Kassi and the gift win against Kauffman. The struggle against Harper and the easy KO loss to Stiverne. So not him.

Szpilka was able to beat an over the hill Adamek and a completely washed up Mccline. But he was easily outboxed by Jennings before Wilder struggled with him and he was blown away by Kownacki. Maybe.

Washington - football player turned boxer no wins of note beside a dreadful 8 rounder with an over the hill Chambers and Miller beat him next fight so no. Plus many felt he lost his "draw" with mansour.

Duhaupas: lost to Wlad challengers Pianeta and Povetkin. But holds a decent win against post injury Helenius. Offense looks abysmal.

To me it comes down to Duhaupas and Szpilka. I'll go with Duhaupas better size and has a decent win post Wilder.
As for where they rate all these guys rate clearly outside of the top 10. Pretty clearly outside the top 15. I'd say Szpilka and Duhaupas have a case for 16-25 range.

Duhaupas. He Crowded Wilder a lot and forced Wilder to fight on the inside way more than he wanted to. He was making it very hard for Wilder to get space. Duhaupas was also very durable. He walked into a vicious left hook and didn't even budge.

I would rank him at the bottom half of the Top 10 before the Povetkin fight. Now I think he's damaged goods. Accepting a match with an elite fighter like Povetkin without even 24 hours notice is never going to end well.

Washington and Arreola were no competition and I wouldn't rank either in the top 20 today.

Szpilka had a great game plan against Wilder, but didn't have the stamina and discipline to stick to it. I'd rate him around top 25.

I wouldn't say any of these guys were in the top 15 when Wilder fought them.

Szpilka is a decent fighter, but can't take a punch well, not a particularly big puncher, nothing special as a boxer either, although did show decent head movement in his fight against Wilder.

The Arreola that Wilder fought was dreadful. Well past his best, durability seemed to have disappeared as did his punching power at that point. Never had much in the skills department at his best anyway.

Duhaupas was very tough and pressured Wilder well until the late stoppage. Definitely Wilder's toughest opponent since Stiverne. Nothing special, tho.

Washington is poor, only showed a decent jab against Wilder. Poor footwork and ring iq, basic punch variety, not much power, poor defence, not a very good chin, bad stamina as well. The fact that Wilder was down on the cards before the stoppage says more about Wilder than Washington.

Molina was just poor in every way. Even then he was able to trouble Wilder multiple times in the fight. Once again that says more about Wilder than Molina.

When you look at it, most of these opponents were beaten more impressively by other people than Wilder. Kownacki shut Szpilka down much earlier than Wilder did. Arreola was beaten in more impressive fashion by V. Klitschko and Stiverne, Duhaupas was annihilated by Povetkin (although that fight was at short notice for Duhaupas), Washington was dominated by Miller (albeit in more time) but he did win 3 rounds or so against Wilder, and Molina was pulverised by Joshua in 3, Arreola in 1, and also lost his first fight in 1 round.

Even Stiverne himself was beaten more impressively by Demetrice King, and he was a journeyman.

No matter how you look at it, Wilder's 'reign' has been a joke and a waste of time for heavyweight boxing.

Probably Duhaupas. Decent durability, OKish skills, some OK wins over Helenius and Charr in a close fight. Plus he gave Wilder his toughest fight and was stopped on his feet in a fight which could perhaps have gone the distance (though there would have been no point in doing so by that point).

Szpilka was likely the most skilled, but he simply didn't have the durability or punching power to trouble Wilder, and has been shown to be very fragile to come forward sluggers. He'd also previously lost in a one sided fight to Jennings so wasn't exactly top quality.

Washington I actually consider semi-decent. H2H I rate him around a similar level to Dominic Breazeale, though resume wise Breazeale has now surpassed him with some decent wins whilst Washington has dropped down after his back to back losses.

Molina was pretty terrible, and the fact that he managed to get a win over Adamek says more for how far gone Adamek was at that point than anything Molina did well.

Arreola was the worst however. Fat, undertrained, coming off a drugs suspension, looked terrible in his last four fights. He barely scraped a draw with Curtis Harper, lost to Kassi, lost to Kauffman and was of course blown away by Stiverne. The fact that Wilder picked him to defend against was an absolute abomination as was his grotesque showboating and arrogance during the fight. From that point on I could no longer give Wilder a pass for anything.

Duhaupas. That guy is a tough nut to crack. Maybe if he just had some more confidence in his offensive capabilities he could have been a cherry pick gone wrong.

That list is like a horror show. You're between a rock and a hard place trying to find a guy with a pulse in that.

Duhaupass, I'd probably rank him in the top three, in France.

I heard that Wilder and AJ have a shared opponent only difference is Wilder fought him after 30 fights, just gives an insight into Wilders career, sure things can happen like guys testing positive but I've never known so much drama with other HWs and their opponents and like AJ just said if one pulls out move on to the next.
How is it we can say months before that Wilder won't fight any top ten opponents before AJ?
I'd like him to face Whyte as it would be something to compare and it wouldn't be another nailed on 80/20 fight, not asking too much is it?

Washington. Good size, basic skillset. I'm OK with him as a voluntary defense...

Legit top 30 guy on your resumé.

Washington is the only similar tall athletic guy LIKE wilder ,and the only guy who was ina clear lead 4 full rnds in and was inexperienced with 19 fights when he fought wilder. He lost to miller who would also beat anyone wilder fought...so the answer would be Washington bc he has the reach and basics to trouble wilder. Lets also remember thats Breazeals sparring partner so he is used to a SHw over 6'6 daily. who could punch.

    Washington.
