I so WANT to see Deontay do this...but I'm still haunted by the last fight.

To me Wilder remains easily the most interesting, exciting fighter in the heavyweights. If he wins this, he ups his ante and will imo break the top 25 ATGs.

If Fury wins...well, he did already at least break into the top 25...

can't see him breaking that 20 anytime soon. Maybe if he beats Joshua or Ruiz after.

Obviously, Wilder has a lot more to both lose and gain here.

I expect to see a better Fury than last time and last time he destroyed Wilder. I'm not sure I even give Wilder a punchers chance if this is the case. He's going to be on the backfoot straight away and shipping punishment.

    Okay I'm curious - why?

I find him rather predictable, consistently ducking good fights and not particularly interesting as a result, so I'm curious as to what you find interesting?

Wow, now that's a bold one... We're all entitled to our personal beliefs but one win and two losses against Fury and no other wins above gatekeeper level I struggle to see how he'd be anywhere near 25.

    Now here we certainly agree...

Wilder loses here and he might as well retire - his PPV draw is limited at the best of times, he usually fights against fighters who bring little fan attention of their own to the bout and without his belt it's likely to be even less.
Wilder wins and he can (and probably would) go back to fighting journeymen for much better pay than he'd get without it - I can't see him chasing after unification or after bigger PPV draw fighters than himself (Whyte in particular) either, not when he's not had the guts before and has now felt what it's like to be dethroned... If he does win, I hope I'm wrong about this of course, I just can't see his ego being less fragile when it comes to matchmaking than it was pre-Fury.

Wilder wont be the same of the second fight. He changed trainer, he improved some moves, he rewatched how Fury attacked him hundreds of times, he wants to get revenge.
I know Fury in Kronk mode can look as the perfect HW for many but the reality Is Wilder was an inconsistent fighter who lacked fundamentals getting punished in a severe way by a very good HW but not excellent or perfect. For these causes I think this time Fury has to have a motivation even bigger than in the previous two fights and train harder imo. Wilder Is dangerous and he Is more hungry than ever.

Wilder is like Shavers...not exactly a great fighter, but he has such a great shot you never know...THAT'S exciting as hell to me. Plus, like Shavers he can be stopped, so there's that element as well. You don't know if he'll get his head kicked in or paralyze the opponent with one or two shots. He's edgy. Joshua came across as a quitter in the Ruiz fight, and yawned his way to victory. Fury has never exactly been particularly exciting.

Him beating the undefeated Fury, especially consummately, changes things. First off, he came back from arguably two defeats against the guy. Plus, poor competition or not, he held the title five years. Sure, I'd put him in the top 25 for that. It's not like I put him or Fury in a class with a #20 guy like Norton, hell no. Neither ever beat anyone the class of even a 30 year old Ali, much less given a fighter the caliber of prime Holmes the fight of his life (and came razor's edge close to winning). NOBODY today has that kind of resume.

I mean yeah he look slightly better in these videos where he was training for his comeback. But

Milked his belt till vomit, sorry. Noname in europe or eurasia and fought 1 boxer known here in Fury.

Again, A.J might switch ppl lights off with 2 hands, Wilder does have 1 hand.

Belt milking and hostage is shame not pride.

I actually think he's better than Shavers who had minimal boxing ability but it won't save Wilder here.

Generally speaking I have no doubts you're correct.

As for me... it all depends how it goes down.
If Wilder is getting dominated again, looks close to getting stopped and pulls out a hail mary, it's not going to change my opinion that much - we all know he's got power already, winning by a lucky swing wouldn't change much.
On the other hand, if he comes out looking like a different fighter and can actually mix it with any version of Fury, it'll show he's improved significantly - regardless of whether he wins on points, KO's Fury or even loses a close (legit) decision, I'll be the first to give credit for that... I can't see it happening, but I'd love to see it.
