Joshua and Hearn and their lap dogs and all you Matchroom FC internet weirdos are dreading the possibility of a Tyson Fury win tonight, because you all know deep down that Fury coming along and beating Wilder will cast a shadow over Joshua's achievements, at least in the minds of people who know boxing.
Rightly or wrongly, Wilder is rated and perceived to be Joshua's outstanding rival, a legitimate threat.

If Fury eliminates this "threat" Wilder, picks up the WBC belt, the only belt he never had to throw in the bin in the first place, combined with being the man who actually ended the dominant Klitschko era, that casts a serious doubt on Joshua's credibility.

It doesn't do anything to Joshua's credibility but it DOES make that dream fight even bigger with an even easier storyline behind it. If Tyson wins tonight people will jump directly to "who's wilder fought?"

Belts have been essentially meaningless since the point Larry Holmes threw away the WBC belt and ran with the IBF.

The heavyweight championship claim is currently disputed (regardless of outcome tonight), and the winner of wilder-fury needs to fight Joshua to resolve that.
