If Benitez trains hard then he wins by decision.

Yeah, Benitez has been underrated, and his 154 pound reign might have been his best. Fought a young Thomas Hearns and lost a 15 round decision.. But he out boxed Duran months before Hearns. Another 15 round fight. Curry is not in this class at 147 or 154.

Competitive but I think Benitez by UD, albeit pretty close, like 9-6.

Benitez lost his biggest challenges to Leonard and Hearns. Curry is
not on their level but has enough boxing ability and patience to not
be frustrated by Benitez. Curry on pts.

Agreed with this assessment. Benitez on a very close 15 round decision.

This is an extremely open fight. Benitez imo is MUCH more vulnerable at 147 than 154 and Curry is a real sharp shooter. His punches are tight and extremely fast and well directed. Curry is also quite happy to stay forward and keep pressure on. Benitez wasn't that impressive at 147 as a matter of fact when you dissect his body of work there.

I'm taking Curry. I think his sharpness and snap would have Benitez on the canvas at least once and he would work his way to either a UD or even late stoppage.

Assuming they are both at their best at 147, I'd go with Benitez by a very close split decision.

Donald's brother Bruce had two close fights with Wilfred, once knocking Wilfred down. If Wilfred fights Donald like he did Bruce, then DCurry will outpoint Benitez (at WW).

Brother Bruce Curry knocked him down three times in that first fight. Curry had only fought 13 times at that point whilst Benitez had over 30 fights under his belt.

Right ^. I couldn't remember how many times Wilfred hit the deck. Some people think BCurry won that fight. He was a tough kid from Ft. Worth...a big amateur boxing town back then.

With 3 KD's in a 10 rounder he must have went close. It would have been scored on rounds tho not points.
