    As Angel was par tof the Puerto Rican group which included;

    * Domingo Ayala
    * Samuel Serrano

    Getting back to Wilfred and Frankie,

    After defeating Omar 'Piton' Realecio, 'El Radar' entered the Top 10 of the WBA
    Light-Welterweights at #8, while improving to 24-0-0 (20 KO's).

    The Dominican Light-Welterweight, Chris Fernandez (who upset brother Frankie),
    came out of nowhere to get ranked #10 by the WBA at Light-Welterweight.

    9000 Boxing fans turn out at the Roberto Clemente Stadium, including WBA Lightweight Champion,
    Roberto Duran, who has scheduled bout with Leonico Ortiz on the following Saturday, December 20, 1975.

    Wilfred Benitez 24-0-0 (20 KO's)... #8 WBA Light-Welterweight
    vs.
    Chris Fernandez 26-11-4 (5 KO's)... #10 WBA Light-Welterweight

    In a WBA Light-Welterweight 'Elimination Bout', the 17 year-old Wilfred Benitez takes on veteran
    Light-Welterweight, the Dominican Republic southpaw, 32 year-old Chris Fernandez.

    Chris Fernandez, upset Wilfred's brother Frankie in New York back on October 20, 1975.

    The 'winner' will be put in a good position, to challenge for the WBA Light-Welterweight Championship.

    Both 'camps' agree to a {142 lb.} weight limit, in the 10-Round bout.

    On the Undercard;

    18 year-old brother Frankie Benitez, 23-2-0 (15 KO's) and the #13 WBA Lightweight will move up to Light-Welterweight -
    will take on 'veteran' Puerto Rican Lightweight/Light-Welterweight, 29 year-old Josue Marquez 28-11-1 (6 KO's)
    the #12 WBA Light-Welterweight in a 10-Round bout.

    Hello All,
    I train with Veron Lewis every week he tell me that Wilfred was on the floor in that round where you see him touching the ground. Anyone out their have the complete video where it show him touching the ground? I don't think the youtube video has that part. Thanks

    Benitez was a defensive genius. he had a short time in the sun, but at his best he had Duran's number, that's for sure.
