    Benitez fought Hearns in a better scientific, technically sound fight which was fought at a higher level than any of Whitaker`s fights, Tommy was better than anybody that Pernell fought.

    Benitez was pretty clearly better at 147 than Pea was IMO.

    He lost to a master boxer with a great reach, Hearns would have destroyed Pernell at welter, he never fought anybody at that level and wouldn`t have been a welter or light middle champ in the early 80`s, it was a tougher era in boxing.
