Wilfred Benitez vs Donald Curry, 147 lbs, Both Prime, 15 Rounds. The Benitez from the Carlos Palomino fight on January 14 1979 against the Curry that kayoed Milton McCrory in 1985, who wins and why?

Curry fails against the WBC Champion this time. After being stopped in 1 round by WBA WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPION Pipino Cuevas Saturday, Donald Curry tried his luck today against WBC WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPION WILFRED BENITEZ and was beaten easily in 15 rds. Benitez appeared to get bored in the fight and was slapped by his father after rd 8 for clowning. It does appear that Curry's place in history is not with the elite level fighters, but with the very good, but not great warriors. Put these kind of fighters all in a bag and shake it up, pull one out and 1 is not much better than the other.

I think Curry edges Benitez, but if Wilfred is on point, he may takes a close one. Donald hits harder, and I think he could definitely drop Wilfred, but Wilfred's science could definitely cause Donald fits, many of them. Real close fight to call.
