I thought Camacho was at his best at super featherweight and Lightweight. At Light welterweight, I would favour teen sensation, Benitez to win a clear decision.

Wilfredo Benitez would be my choice to beat Hector Camacho. In addition to weighing at least ten pounds bigger than Camacho during their peak years, Benitez had as much skill and ability, probably even more.

Benitez had weight problems at 140 lbs and shown by the first Bruce Curry
fight with 3 knockdowns and winning a controversial decision. Camacho had
blazing hands and catches a non focused WB . Hector on pts.

Wonder how many southpaws Benitez had fought at Jr. WW?

Interesting that the 2 fighters Benitez beat pre-Cervantes title fight,
    were southpaws.

after watching Hector shut out Howard Davis, Hector still had nearly all of his speed (1987) and would make Wilfred look like he was standing still. Hector with his left handed in and out style, wins in near shut out fashion and nothing Wilfred could do about it

Only thing Camacho is beating Benitez at is in a coke snorting contest... and Benitez might even win that.

Benitez completely outclasses Hector. What a stupid statement.

The problem with Camacho is Rosario stunted his progress. He fought Leonard and Duran, but the 1990s versions which really does not mean much. Benitez fought everyone he could of and there are no regrets with him. He competed with the greats like Hearns,Duran and Leonard and was in that level fighter. Camacho was not. He lost when he fought the upper levels like Chavez and Tito and Oscar. Some will say that was after his generation, but Chavez was not and he lost easily to him. Wasn't even competitive. Benitez would win a UD against Camacho at 140. UD. by 3 points. Uneventful fight.
