Does Benitez manage to work his magic against the relentless onslaught, or does Armstrong demonstrate why so many have ranked him as one of the historical P4P elites?
Hank all day. Armstrong would be in his ass from the opening bell. Doesn't matter how many you slip when they never stop coming. Armstrong W15
The Armstrong that beat up Barney Ross, would beat Wilfred. (Plus, you just never know which WB would show up)
Tough call. From watching tapes of Hammer's fights, his hallmark was his incredible hand speed with pin point accuracy. In this regard El Radar was no slouch as well as he, too, was a great boxing technician. But he was five inches taller and had a much longer reach. Both could go all 15 R's. To me, this is a ''pick 'em" or one too tough to call. However, if you twisted my arm and forced me to give an answer, I would hesitantly go with Benitez because of his longer reach which he would use to war off the relentless Hammer.
Now this one I'd pay to see. Armstrong's activity would be the key and the difference. Unlike Leonard and Hearns who were just as fast if not faster then Armstrong taller, and bigger men yet Benitez made them look foolish at certain periods of their fights with him. The activity of Armstrong though, his style of being right in his opponents chest, throwing hard combinations damn near non-stop for 15 rds. And I don't think Benitez had the fire power to keep Armstrong honest or off of him. I see Benitez winning the early rds but the constant pressure would start to take effect around the 7th or 8th rd, Armstrong going on to a comfortable dec.
Armstrong takes this one with his activity and fast pace which gets him landing on Benitez. I don't see many of the defensive specialist really giving Armstrong many losses. It takes someone with a better offense with good stamina and movement to keep him from getting on a roll and pressuring them.
