Norris KOd by Julian Jackson, I wouldn't mark that against his chin because Jackson could KO anyone he hits. Simon Brown former Welterweight moving up to '54 KOd Terry in 3, Including putting on the canvas with a single jab. I haven't seen too many champions go down from a jab and it wasn't a balance knockdown. Later Mullings got him. He almost lost his title to Troy Walters. Terry had alot of talent and offensively gifted but his chin was pretty bad. Benitez didn't have an iron chin either but he was much more slippery.
oh i agree he does not have the greatest chin but hes alot tougher then given credit for. He just got caught trading with Brown and paid for it. Samething with Walters. He was beyond done vs Mullings. But Benitez has been decked quite a few times as well.
I haven't seen it in years, so all I can say is that I definitely had Hearns ahead, but I felt that even if Hearns was winning a significant number of rounds, they were mostly pretty close.
Duran was quicker below 154, Benitez v Heans was one of greatest displays of science in a ring ever, Norris was never in at that level, I feel his talent was wasted.
Benitez had some good pop @ 154, noticeably better than he had @ 140 or 147. Just ask Maurice Hope. I think Norris had more natural/athletic ability than Benitez, but Benitez was smarter & more disciplined in the ring. I wouldn't be surprised if Benitez gradually picks apart Norris as the fight progresses & stops him late.
