Instead of crawling around the floor in an oscar winning performance like some boxers today do... (bernard hopkins), he gets up and thugs it out for the rest of the round.

its a shame that such a class boxer has to live out of a small ss ck and the charity of the government of P.R. to sustain himself. He is not himself and its a sad story.

Okay, so can anyone set the story straight for me.

Is Benitez a fighter who primed so young and flamed out very early?

Or it was a lax approach to conditioning that led to his downfall?

He was in the gym since he was 10. Won a championship when he was 17. After the loss to Tommy Hearns at 23, he really flamed out.

Floyd clowns, humiliates, and then stops Benitez in the 5th.

Heck yeah. Guys were better then. Duran beating Moore was important - this was right after that fight (and right after Benitez schooled Duran)

Much better era for boxing- in my opinion the best era. Look at that hand speed and willingness to engage at 154 lbs.

If your name is Davey Moore, don't become a boxer. both died under inauspicious circumstances.

They called him the Radar for a reason

Apparently he only trained 2 weeks for the SRL fight, its sad to know that a talent has gone to such waste
