    He burned out young. If you look at him facing off with Duran, he was much younger than Duran, but much older in "boxing years"

    In case some of y'all don't know this, Benitez grew 2 more inches in height over the course of his pro career. He won a championship as the youngest fighter ever when he was just a boy, in every sense of the word. That is truly absurd.

    But YES he defo burned out very quickly... Cocaine is a hell of a drug

    Davey (bless his soul) was nothing more than a sparring match for Benitez who got bored in the fight and got caught with one...why did ref stop fight since Davey didn't land anything ?

    He was a Master on the ropes...watch the Duran and Palomino fight.
    Benitez is one of my top 5 fighters along with Sanchez who was snuffed out!!!

    Good picks El Capitan I would add Willie Pastrano up theretoo. Hopkins is a dog compared to Wilfred!!

    That's crazy.

    I lost count, but I'm pretty sure he dodged or rolled around thirty punches after getting up from that KD, all while being trapped in the corner.

    No he wasn't ...before the fight in an interview he snatched two flies out of the air!!!

    He was fighting wit a broken ankle in more than 5 places!!!

    Previous injuries caused him to lose to Mustafa "Buzz Saw" ...
    Benitez was a bad ass...who discoed to train!!!

    Benitez is one of the most underated fighters ever! That's just amazing **** right thurr. One of my all time faves, slick as you can get but with heart.

    People forget how big his win over Cervantes was I feel. That was arguably his best perfomance over an 140 ATG, while Benitez was only 17!!! Great fighter with a great heart. Fav PR boxer.

    And basically pivoting off 1 foot. No way he had much weight at all on that jacked up ankle. :lol: Its nice to see Benitez get some love on here, tragic how he ended up though.
