Wilfredo Bazooka Gomez vs Barry McGuigan, 126 lbs, 15 rounds both peak. Could Gomez out bomb Barry? Could McGuigan run Wilfredo to the ground as he did to Pedroza in 1985? Both are peak, for those who do not understand, they are both at their absolute best.

McGuigan should win this, probably by stoppage in the double digit rounds

I see same result, but with different winner, so a fairly good FW champ, up against a ATG with concussive power, Mmmm..

I can't see McGuigan winning this.

People make the mistake with Gomez, of thinking just because he lost to Sanchez at his best, and most determined, that Gomez is cannon fodder at featherweight. He’s a class above McGuigan, who I do think gets sold short often, but it’s unlikely he’s beating Gomez.

Close to prime or prime and focused Gomez beats McGuigan convincingly .
Gomez was a class above McGuigan, even at featherweight.
McGuigan's biggest win was a past prime Pedroza in his hometown
(London) While it was a good win , it's not as great as some make it
seem once the circumstances are known.
I'll go with Gomez by unanimous dec, or late rd ko.

Great matchup! I am going with Gomez and do think it will be stopped very late in the fight. But until then, what a fight!

Best basis for comparison is Gomez and Barry fought Juan Laporte about a year apart and Wilfredo had the easier time I think.

I see Gomez taking over in the middle-late rounds and eventually ending the Irishman around 10-11 by accumulation.

Ireland is a lot closer to England than Panama , I'd say
at the least 95% of the audience were pulling for McGuigan.
So Not a home field advantage?

Ireland and England are traditional rivals, I was playing on the fact that a lot of Irish hate being considered associated with England.
