Let’s hear it, I’ll assume Mayweather will receive very little love but I’d like to hear some takes on this one.

I pick the guy who does every single thing better than the other one.

How’s the fight look? I’m not really for or against either side. I think Mayweather is underrated and Benitez is honestly as far as being “a defensive wizard” oversold, his offence was so separated from his main effort of getting out of the way of punches that it crippled him despite looking incredible… he didn’t really blend it with much of an attack very often.

He'd do better than Marquez, but still poorly.

I think Canelo might actually have better defense that Benitez and he's obviously leagues ahead in counter punching.

Benitez would win, but they'd never fight Floyd would duck as usual.

I think Floyd Mayweather would likely win against Wilfredo Benitez. While Benitez had amazing natural talent, he arguably never harnessed his abilities with the same consistency or completeness that Mayweather was able to.

Benitez had a sharp, instinctive defense, but it probably wouldn't hold up as well as Mayweather’s more systematic defensive skills. Similarly, while Benitez had good counters and offensive moments, Mayweather’s precision, timing, and overall offensive arsenal were on another level.

The fight would likely start with Benitez causing Mayweather some trouble, using his unique style to create awkward moments and catch Floyd at times. However, Mayweather's ability to adapt and adjust to an opponent's rhythm would eventually shine through. Once Floyd figures out Benitez’s timing and tendencies, he'd begin to take control, dictating the engagements and landing the cleaner, more telling blows to secure a clear decision victory.

Benitez never really impressed me as an offensive fighter, I don’t consider myself sold either way. I think it’d be interesting - what fights do you see this similar to?

Me neither…but whenever I have a conversation with knowledgeable boxing fans about great counterpunchers …Wilfred Benetiz always comes up ….some fighters are just too boring to study

I don’t think study is in order for Benitez at his height his offence was “eh” for all his movement it was evasion first and it held him back.

Never thought much of Benitez. Mayweather would win this but not a fight I'd be interested in.
