Wilfredo Benitez vs JCC Sr at 140 lbs who wins in their primes?

    The reason I posted this is that I realised looking at an old Ring magazine edition that Benitez was a world champ at 140 so I posted a question what elite fighters in 140lbs history could have beaten Wilfredo and someone said Chavez and it got me thinking I thought Chavez dismantled Taylor better than people say when he defeated Meldrick with two minutes to go in that infamous bout, but some say he was better at lightweight, I feel he`d have a lot more trouble hitting Benitez than he did against Taylor, Meldrick didn`t have a defense even close to that of Benitez, so do you think Taylor or Chavez would have beaten Bentitez or both?

    Chavez was able to close off the ring against Taylor who ended up taking quite a beating.

    Chavez didn’t have the same success against Whitaker who able to slip and slide effortlessly. It was officially a draw, but most observers thought that it should have been a UD for Whitaker.

    Chavez may have a similar difficulty with Benitez, although he wasn’t quite as slick as Whitaker.

    Actually Chavez had already moved up in weight as a LW. He previously won titles as a super featherweight (130)

    I think Benitez. That would be a tough fight for Chavez stylewise.
