It was not an agenda. I honestly did not see the comment. There were three threads going on about Duran/Benitez at the same time.

Cervantes was one of this best wins and so was Duran. And then Maurice Hope. I think Cervantes was his best win and then Duran. Duran was the greatest guy he beat , but Cervantes at the time and his age of 17 1/2 were the things which made that win incredible. I never understood Randy Shields and I never liked him much. Inconsistent and never gave guys credit.. Tricky fighter with a lot of heart and then up and down fights. Benitez stops him and Hearns does not and Ray does not. I think he even beat Ray in the amatuers. That punch against Hope was a strange punch, but a great footage. Benitez expression was great and the way he stood there. I don't think I ever saw a fighter react like that.

I have been summoned like Candyman. And I appeared. Hopefully without some of the nastiness but a similar amount of gravitas. And to you and yours I wish-DEMAND-a merry everything. Unless you don't want it merry. If you want it grim, may you have it. Grim like the whiskey in an old hobo's bottle, with a jagged, broken piece off the top that if you don't mind you'll cut your lip and you must sterilize it with the whiskey but you know this kind of whiskey never sterilizes anything but a lead ball in 1851, in an old Western shooting injury to the outer tricep. But real hobo whiskey just makes everything more microbiologically active. And not with that probiotic activity you get in Jamie Lee Curtis' pooping yogurt for women that is supposed to be good. But a kind of microbiological activity that kills...Kills your soul.

I was alright, for a while. I could smile, for a while. But when I saw her last night, she held my hand so tight, when she stopped to say, " Hello", and though she wished me well she couldn't tell......that I'd been cryyyyyying over Sue. Cryyying over Sue. Then Sue such as so long left me standing all alone and crying. Crying.

Merry Christmas @Boxed Ears the true warrior poet of the WASTELAND!!!!!!!!!!

I think Duran's greatest performance was... ah, sorry, wrong thread. It would be inappropriate of me to talk about that in a thread dedicated to the opposite purpose wouldn't it?

We have acknowledge that Wilfred Benitez beat him quite decisively. In the same time period as when Duran fought Cuevas and Moore and Hagler. A year a half before Hagler.

Anyone talking Duran is talking to him, particularly if they are praising. He's gotta keep that sorta stuff under control and fair, you know. It's his duty to other boxers.
