A fighter I have watched a number of his fights at and his skills still amazes me. Just how good was his opposition at 122? I know he fought some absolute novices to stay busy but what was the gist of it like.
Quality contenders or stiffs? What was the era like?

    Thanks

You should post this type of question in the classic forum because you'll get the best answer from the people there ( some of them can not take all the **** in the general forum). He beat Zarate who is Mexican legend around top 50 ATG with one of the highest KO ratio in history. Gomes fought like possesed in that fight. If you haven't watch it do it. It is his career defining win.

He was an excellent fighter who needed more off the ring discipline.
