What was said about this 'knockdown' at the time? There was no count and it actually looked like Gomez' foot may have slipped out of the ring. Anyone know?
Oh wow! I hadnt seen the fight in a year and did not remember this. I think the fact it was a delayed fall may have persuaded the ref to thinking it was a slip instead. But you could tell Gomez was a bit hurt! Thanksssss!
Body punches are at times delayed in the reaction… IMO it hurt him, it was a very good combination, Dempsey made moves like that popular.
It possibly is a slip but in San Juan they’d have given him every favour, look at his BS against Zarate.
