Exactly. The Pintor fight showed that Gomez can win wars. What a fight that was. Pintor was a tough, tough hombre.

What I like about Gomez was that he could box or punch, depending on circumstances, and he carried his power all the way through the fight. He could get you early or get you late, but he'd get you.

I'd be putting a prime Jeff Fenech in with Gomez. If Fenech isn't KO'd early (and I doubt very much that'd happen) then he'd have a more than even chance to run over the top of Gomez in the later rounds

Fenech and Gomez? What a war that would be.

I'd say Fenech is the second best 122 pounder behind Gomez that we've seen. His 122 career wasn't very long but he was completely untouchable around and during this time. Boxers, punchers, swarmers and everything inbetween. Didn't matter...they were all steamrolled. In about his 12th fight he took on Danilel Zaragoza and beat him with ease. That was before he won a 122 title

Morales has a better shot than Barrera or pacquiao vs Gomez, he has the best chin & the best distance boxing of the 3.

Barrera got sparked by Junior Jones at this weight & pacquiao was just far too wild... Morales was a force at this weight, at his peak, sometimes he preferred to bang it out at this weight tho rather than use his technical skills because he could walk thru the punches of the 122 lbers except MAB... BUT he is not a stupid guy & he would know what Gomez was about & would fight to the best of his abilities.

Ps. the only reason Morales fought Barrera carelessly in the 1st fight is because of the hatred between the 2 & the fact that the world thought Barrera`s best days were behind him, you seen the adjustments in the rematch made by Morales when the hatred was still as bad if not worse but Barrera was a known an elite fighter & not on the slide.

When Morales is faced with a dangerous challenge, he rises, when he thinks there is little threat, he fights silly.... Gomez would be the most dangerous opponent of his career & Erik would know this, he`d be prepared & he`d take Gomez to the limit I think.... whether that would be enough to win I`m not so sure but he would be the best opponent of Gomez career pre Sanchez.
