Gomez fought d better fighters, but Cermeno got d better wins while taking in2 consideration quality of opposition and quality of per4mance against them and fighting away from home.

I think that Gomez is vastly over8ed, more than Duran, whom despite having fought in a rather mediocre, even if over8ed LW division, at least showed his quality years l8er and w8s higher vs d likes of Hagler, Castro, Leonard, Barkley, Sims, Pazienza, Camacho*, etc.

So Duran may b over8ed as a LW, but quite clearly a gr8.
Gomez fought in a mediocre SBW division, against a yet inferior opposition 2 Duran's, and fared much worse while going up and also faded much quicker.

It is also worth mentioning that Duran jumped 2 w8s 2 Gomez' 1, and was successful @it against n opponent which most , but not me , consider a higher caliber opponent 2 Gomez' bigger opponent. And if that was not enough then Gomez failed miserably vs Sanchez' inferior in Azumah Nelson.

D comparison of Gomez 2 Duran is a wrong 1, I consider him much more as a Ricardo Lopez/Carlos Zarate of his w8, even if Lopez' opposition was d worst of d 3, it is not by much.

We've missed you frank. Who is Antonio Cermeno? Why not 15 rounds? Is it in Puerto Rico where Gomez can fight as dirty as he wants?

If your point is that you know ****-all about boxing, you have made it in a way that is beyond debate or counter-argument.

    Gomez by serious ass-whupping.

    I consider Cermeno a top 5 Venezuelan fighter , which is a lot and a top 5 @ 122 .
I only watched him KO some Japanese in d 12th and final rd , just when it seemed that d fight was going 2 end after d full distance . A last moment KO without really trying 4 it , as far as i remember .

    .. Just b/c that fight was d only 1 that i could find .

Cermeno was not called "El Coloso" 4 nothing and if Gomez found Sanchez' size advantage as 2 much 2 overcome , Xpect him 2 find Cermeno's even more so .

I hope that that 1 fight is still availabe on y/t , and alongside boxrec u may find more about his quality .

I suppose d fight is conducted under just refereeing etc. b/c otherwise i could implicitly assume things such as 1 fighter is allowed n axe in d ring while d other is not .

Gomez was allowed 2 cheat vs Zarate in addition 2 being allowed 2 weigh as much as he found fit , whereas Zarate whom actually weighed inside d limit was 4ced 2 shed more , jast b/c d fight was held in PR .
C ? dis iz d sabstens det lejends r meid of.

Not that I even consider Zarate ez d men @ 118 @ d time , ez hi chited in order 2 "beat" Zamora .

    BTW , if u find t taim 2 research Cermeno , I'd recommend u researching Yober Ortega 2 , whom I consider at least as good/gr8 .

edit regarding d 15 rds remark : when i match fighters from different eras i try 2 consider it under d rules & regulations that could fit both .

4 instance , UDK how a fighter used 2 making weight under d assumption that he is Xpected 2 go 12 or 13 rds maximum , would react 2 having 2 go 4 more , if it gets 2 last 4 so long .

But/And then cermeno's w8 advantage in d ring wud not hev bin det huge bikoz Gomez enjoyed d scales set in his favor , and against his opponents' favor anyway .

b/c your knowledge about Cermeno can b summarized in n/a , and YDKSAB , and r a generic "boxing fan" , (then) u can predict d outcome ?

I doubt if he lost 2 Norwood and having watched Marquez vs Norwood I thought that it was close, putting it mildly .

outcomes on record should b treated carefully .

This is another reason 2 y i care more 4 who did some1 fight (against) as opposed 2 "how it ended" .

Gomez by a brutal stoppage people and please when it comes to making these threads of a dream fight between today's fighters/champions versus yesterdays fighters/champions (and in some to most instances H.O.F.'s) make that dream fight a scheduled 15-round fight, the REAL championship distance and always will be, not 12-rounds!

No, because your summary of Gomez made it clear that you know ****-all, and because any idiot would know what Gomez did or did not do at a higher weight has absolutely no bearing in predicting a matchup at 122.
