I argued not long ago I think Pac could do it...After being convinced by Sweet_Scientist, Mantequilla and Sweet Pea (and probably others) I have since watched more of Gomez's earlier career at 122 and I well and truly change that prediction.

He was a fantastic fighter, technically one of the best offensive fighters you will see, great footwork and an underrated defence.
I based way to much of my prediction on his fight with Pintor which is one of my favourites, and some of his later fights, which were past his prime and usually outside of 122.

I love Pac, he is my favourite fighter in the world right now but it is very clear he wasnt quite the same fighter he is today when down at superbantam.

Still a great fight, with plenty of action..I see both guy getting hurt, as Gomez could be pulled into a brawl but Wilfredo would get through the rough patches to beat out a pretty clear decision..more then likely he could stop Pac but Ill say he takes it clearly on points.

Gomez. Pacquiao beats him at a more suitable weight for him, though. At 130lbs, Gomez gets battered.

I think Gomez would stop Pac in an action packed fight. I don't think Pac was yet the fighter he'd become at 122.

I'd pick Gomez at 122lbs, by TKO. and Pac at 126lbs (probably UD in an action packed fight). and 130lbs (pac TKO).

Gomez was UNTOUCHABLE at 122. He was past his prime as he moved up in weight, and lost to several guy by ko, but at 122, he should have worn a cape, because he was Superman as champion of that division.

At 122 Gomez had it all speed, power, defence great footwork and movement. Wilfredo would be too much Pac at this weight a stoppage like 9 or 10. The higher the weight the better for Manny.
