"Bazooka" vs the "Will-o'-the Wisp" (in their primes) Gomez moves up and tries to take the Featherweight title away from Willie Pep. 15 rds. Who wins?
I think Pep, Gomez wasnt nearly as effective when he moved up and I think he has enough gaps in his D that Pep could capitlise on. But Im not really qualified to give a proper analysis, as I havent seen enough of Gomez's prime. Most of what I have seen are his post 122 days, which of course dont do him justice.
Hard to say, Sanchez wasn't exactly knocking everyone dead when he fought Gomez, yet he was able to KO "Knocking-everyone-out" Gomez in 8 rounds. (Pillowfist Ali KO'd George Foreman in 8 rounds, coincidence?) Gomez and Pep were ****ing Gods in my book; Pep wins, decision.
Featherweight was Pep's all to his own, he only got stopped after a near fatal plane crash and against a bigger, stronger, dirtier?, harder punching and more durable banger in Saddler. Gomez wasn't as effective at Feather and was a fan of the cocainum, so i take Pep by dec.
