    Round 9

Casarez is holding his left out, waving a jab and leading with his face. Greenidge is crossing his forearms to catch and pull on the inside, and throwing counter hooks when Casarez is still at mid-range on the way in or out. Greenidge is making it an ugly little contest of short slaps and chops while Casarez stubbornly tries to make it a phonebooth brawl.

    10-9 Greenidge again.

    Round 10

Casarez punches his guts out, hooking hard upstairs and looping rights around the other side. Greenidge backs up to the ropes and invites Casarez in, then grinds him with his crossed forearms and works his hands quickly but lightly - scoring nonetheless. Casarez is trying to push him back into the ropes and separate enough to throw to the body unmolested, while Greenidge keeps tying him up in one manner or another and clapping Casarez on the back and side of the head with annoying open-gloved shots. Casarez keeps trying to work on the inside but can't get any momentum going with Greenidge's grabbing and slapping.

Apparently it's over at 10 rounds (Boxrec said it would be 12 :conf)

    Split decision:

    96-94 Greenidge
    98-92 Casarez
    and
    96-94 Casarez

Now, all three commentators saw this differently (split both ways and one had it a draw).

That 98-92 score for The Tiger seems very fishy. Of the four rounds I saw, 2-3 seemed to belong to Greenidge (two clear and one close). That means Casarez would have had to sweep the first six for that scorecard to be accurate...and from how it's being described, it was closer than that.

This warrants further review later. :think

    Ay carumba. Three anthems.

So far...so bad. I'm sorry, Mexico.

Dios mio, that was painful. I almost want to root for Hernandez just out of sympathy for that crap.

Damn IB, you report a new robbery each week. It's almost as if it has become the norm. I guess you could stop reporting them, but I have a hunch they'd still happen. Very frustrating as a mere fan, imagine how the fighters must feel. Despite whatever the hell goes on or however the boxing community reacts, it will continue as long as the sun continues to rise. Quite ****ing frustrating.

I heard the Colonel refer to Giovanni Segura as 'Giovanni Rivera.' I wonder if he has been in his usual rare form this evening?

It could very well turn out to be a "right man won" situation, but that margin of eight rounds to two is almost certainly bunkum.

It bugs me when you get crazy cards like that, even in situations where it "everything works out". Remember Doug Tucker's score in Mijares-Navarro? :-(

Papito looks ready to rumble, and Choko stares right through him.

    Round 1

Vazquez is rolling from his heels to his toes nervously, jabbing and scrunching up in a tight shell. Hernandez hooks off his jab stepping forward and backs straight out quickly before Vazquez can get off a counter. Vazquez isn't even really looking to counter, so much as slide backward and hold Hernandez off with a jab. Hernandez eyes him up and looks to jab his way in more cautiously now but Vazquez is timing him. Nice body shot from Vazquez. Choko comes forward constantly but can't pin Vazquez down.

10-9 Vazquez although he was mostly defensive. Hernandez simply didn't land enough.

Bob Sheridan and Armando Alvarez have it for Hernandez, while Danny Ricardo agrees with me. (Sheridan was obsessed with Vazquez slipping on the canvas a few times because of his new shoes).
