Williams is a guy who beat Margorito for the title.
Before Margarito, he beat a bunch of guys --- most of them with loosing records.
Based on his victory over Margarito, people are building him up to be the 2nd coming of Christ.

I think I will pick Quintana.

Williams in a rout. Too big, too strong, too long, too fast....a bad, bad matchup for Quintana.

I think a lot of you are in for a shock. I'm not saying Quintana will beat Williams, but I do expect this to be a very competitive fight. To me, Williams is a good, not great, fighter who gets by on physical attributes and ridiculous stamina. However, I don't think that will be enough to propel him to victory against elite level fighters or skilled technicians. When I think of Williams, I think of a fighter with insane height and reach advantages over most opponents. Yet, both are negated by his propensity for regularly fighting on the inside. A fighter who throws a hundred punches per round. Yet, hardly any of them are thrown with any real conviction. As Manny Steward pointed out, his gloves aren't even fully closed when he throws punches. A fighter who fights with his chin straight up in the air, and who has a bad habit of keeping his lead hand low. Quintana won't be a stationary target like most of the opponents Williams has been fighting lately and should be able to exploit Williams defensive gaps and bad habits enough to make Williams look ordinary, considering.

Wiliams hasnt fought someone with a losing record since 2003? Quintana hasnt fought one since 2004?

    What was your point again?

No real conviction. Meaning, they are not damaging blows. When you throw a hundred punches per round against an opponent with history of cutting, yet he comes out unscathed, with little to any marks on his face, chances are you don't punch with any true conviction.

The evidence is I see Quintana as a sharp shooter, who can fight and pick off opponents while on the backfoot. I seen a 5'5 Sharmba Mitchell hit Williams with 4 punch combinations flush, so I'm confident Quintana is capable of doing the same and then some. I'm not Williams bashing. I'm calling it like I see it. If he beats Quintana easily, like most are expecting, I'll be the first to give him his props. Especially if he KO's Quintana.

Williams will win this by decision. Too much reach, speed, and workrate for Quintana. Quintana being on the inactive side isn't going to help either. But I think Williams is in for a tougher time than most seem to think. He'll win but he will have his hands full. Probably win 8-9 rounds but with a number of them being hard fought.

I think Williams is a legit contender at welter with those freakish physical attributes. He seems like he is starting to get a bit more hype than warranted at this point. He might become a very special fighter, he has the tools and opponent options to get there. Its just that I've seen him look less than stellar a couple times so until he puts together a few more quality wins I think I'll personally have a few reservations about anointing him great right now.

Beating Quintana is a step in the right direction to becoming an elite fighter.

I see Williams completely overpowering Quintana and getting the ko in the mid rounds,,,possibly even early rounds.

My point is that he has beaten no one of significant consequence other than Margarito . I need to see more. Show me??

Your right --- no loosing records since 2003.
However since 2003, he has fought 6 opponents with almost as many loses as wins.
Another point --- lack of wins over noteworthy opponents.
