Will a 22 Year old Mike Tyson be protected in today's era? Like Canelo, Jr etc?

No HW would pose lot of a threat against Tyson..
Wlad could give him trouble if he could survive the first half of the fight, but that is highly questionable..
Vitali is too old, the 02-04 Vitali could give Tyson a real challenge..

The quality of opposition Tyson would have to go through and the amt of $$$$ riding on getting him a title shot would be far too risky to be feeding him straight to the wolves.

When Tyson won the title, so could Dimitrenko for FFS.:deal

Lol Vlad had to throw in the towel after that... To say he is over rated skill wise wouldn't be honest.. All fighters have losses he started losing some 10 years after his prime,he had a short one but to deny how good he was as a heavy weight would be dishonest..

Tyson might get a trinket in this era - if that.

Some fans are desperate for a Tyson type to be HW champ. Times change.

See Lewis v Tyson to see how MT would fare in this era. Tyson huggers think he'd blow away most current HWs b/c he had this mythical prime blowing away Spinks and some other B class HWs :-(

I think he'd have problems with Arreola, maybe even Haye. Not saying he couldn't win, but if he could lose to Douglas at his prime, he could lose to many top HWs in this era.

I rarely ever get into anykind of slanging match or dis other posters on this site. But as someone who grew up watching Tyson fights ... I have to say that this post is lame.

At 22 Tyson had speed and power in attack, and wicked upper body movement in defence. He wasn't head-hunting like he was in his later fights.

Tyson at 22 having problems with vs Haye or Arreola I think would be very unlikely.

If Tyson were 22 in the year 2012, he would be protected. Not as bad as Deontay Wilder, thankfully. Not to say he wouldn't have the potential to clean house, but they wouldn't throw him in with the Klitschkos.

He would be protected, but not only in the ring, all those outside influences wouldn't have got to him,
